My fav film of 2009 Rockwell was aces in this . And a really slick movie idea imo by Duncan Jones that was very well executed/directed . Glad it found a bit of a following when it came out on dvd cause it seemed like only a very few saw it in theaters in the summer of 2009 (I saw it in theaters & was the only one in the theater which was sorta nice actually but I wish it did better at the box office) . 10/10 PS: I still have some hopes that Duncan will direct another great film (Mute was an abortion for sure but I'm not ready to call Moon a fluke just yet)

My favorite film of 2009 as well. Sam Rockwell is my Best Actor win that year. The story takes plenty of unexpected directions and the little glimpses of world-building is fascinating. It’s one of the reasons why I was so excited for Mute, which might be the most disappointing film of the decade. The visuals are also surprisingly impressive considering its low budget, Clint Mansell’s score was snubbed at the Oscars, and the film brings a lot of natural emotional resonance to the story. It’s still so weird that Duncan Jones could make a protagonist as interesting as Sam Bell and then make someone as boring as Leo in Mute.
Admittedly, I do have a personal connection to the film that makes it special for me. I saw the film when I was 13, attending the Seattle International Film Festival. Moon is one of the films that really got me passionate about cinema. Part of the reason is that after the screening, Duncan Jones showed up and started answering questions from the crowd, discussing the filmmaking, his inspirations etc. It was really inspiring seeing this filmmaker who was clearly so passionate about his craft.
I really hope he can have a comeback, show the great potential that he did with Moon (I did mostly like Source Code). He’s obviously a talented guy with some interesting ideas. I’d love to see him collaborate with Sam Rockwell again.

Also my favorite of 09! That seems to be a popular choice here. Very good sci-fi with an excellent performance from Rockwell. I give it a 9/10.

The movie is very interesting and I quite liked it. I didn't love it. Rockwell was great, deserving of all the praise that's been thrown his way.

Marvelous stuff for sure. Sam Rockwell is a force of nature, but the quality of everything else going on around him is super high too.

It's pretty damn great. My #3 of 2009 and until very recently Rockwell was my actor win.

It's not quite as brilliant as its rep suggests, but it's still very good.
