Homicide which is not only David Mamet's best (and most personal AND most complex) film, but also his most hauntingly scored and gorgeously shot - by Roger Deakins - in lush foreboding shadows and shades of darkness.

Speaking of which, anyone seen The Good German? It seems like a minor Soderbergh/lesser The Man Who Wasn't There, but I like the cast enough. Is it any good?

Brick by Rian Johnson starring a young Gordon-Levitt. It's the most unique noir ever It's set in high-school and is very smart and intellectual.

Body Heat is king. William Hurt's only role that I care for.
