It ain't Manhunter but it's solid enough. Worth watching for the cast mainly.

Quite underrated film . MANHUNTER was better for sure but RD was still pretty damn captivating and entertaining . The whole cast was solid , especially Ralph Fiennes and Emily Watson.
ps : RED DRAGON >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> HANNIBAL(2000)

I'll third the sentiment that Manhunter is notably superior, but Red Dragon is a fine film all the same.

Very entertaining but ultimately quite an unmemorable rehash of Silence of the Lambs. Good performances though! Hannibal (2001) holds up better

Surprisingly good for a Brett Ratner film. The performances were solid. Visuals and score elevated the material too.

It's pretty solid. It looks really good (surprising given it's a Ratner movie) and my man Ed Norton is really good. The Fiennes/Watson sub-plot is the best thing about the movie. Hopkins as Lecter is also a joy to watch as always.

Despise it. Apart from Hopkins' performance (He's fun albeit going through the motions), virtually everything about the film is forgettable, especially Fiennes' sleepy Voldemort performance and Ed Norton's dull protagonist. It has one strong moment (the Freddy Lounds scene) but everything else about the film is a dud. At least Hannibal stuck its neck out occasionally. Red Dragon is just been-there-done-that the whole way through, up till that anti-climactic home invasion.
Of course Manhunter is leagues better but that's not glowing praise for Manhunter now is it.

Fieness tries, but it is one of the least thrilling thrillers I've ever seen in my entire life.

I saw both Manhunter and Red Dragon. I prefer Mann’s version. Red Dragon had the better actors, but it felt like they added too much Hopkins to justify his top billing. Give me the more subtle version.

Man is unhappy because he doesn't know he's happy. It's only that.

Nobody liked Philip Seymour Hoffman here?

It's ok but it's insanely over-cast tbh Fiennes, Hopkins, PSH, Norton, Keitel, Watson, Parker.......it doesn't have Mann's sort of deranged hypnotic pull - In A Gadda Da Vida etc.......one day we should compare Hopkins to Cox ........I'd like to hear Cox compare himself to Hopkins actually
