Everyone seems to be saying that Spacek is lovely in this. She has a shot getting in Supporting.

Really excited for White Boy Rick. Looks like McConaughey and Richie Mittell delivered in terms of performances.

Destroyer reviews: IndieWire says Kidman "takes no prisoners" in a moody potboiler of a noir. For whatever reason, more critics haven't mentioned it, but the buzz around Kidman is sizable indeed. She's apparently drawing Theron-in- Monster comparisons. Of course, all festival reactions should be taken with a grain of salt because, well, people always want to peg the next big thing for the Oscars, but with this and Boy Erased, Kidman could be looking down the barrel of a banner year.

Sasha Stone from Awardsdaily and The Wrap said Destroyer might be the best performance of Kidman's career. Also read some reactions calling it a gamechanging performance, as it's the type of role only usually played by male actors. If these reactions hold up, I think Kidman might actually be able to Theron her way to a second lead Oscar.

Possibly my most anticipated for the rest of the year.

It's looking to be an extraordinarily dense year for Best Actress, though, and Kusama has never been an Academy favorite, even if Annapurna's behind her. I think she's in the thick of it for sure, but I can easily see it being the performance that adds fuel to the Supporting Actress fire for Boy Erased, which will likely be the friendlier player for the industry. Still, looks like Glenn Close is having a shitty week, with the Favourite trio, Gaga and now Kidman crushing it at the fests. EDIT: Melissa McCarthy, too.
