This was the movie that really got me into watching bad movies. Since the. I’ve discovered such masterpieces as Birdemic, Love on a Leash, The Neil Breen films, but The Room will always be special for me.

Watched it for the first time last year in one one of those screening where everyone is quoting lines, shouting out random things and throwing spoons at the screen. A great experience.

There's so many questions and not enough answers.
Why were they dressed in tuxedos? Did Denny ever pay the money? Who was that random guy at the party? Why did we have to see a scene with two random people making out with chocolate? Why was mark so busy? What is Lisa's problem?

If you're referring to what I think you are, they recast their psychologist friend half way through production.

There is a good chance Tommy Wiseau has brain damage, and just about everyone laughing at him and his film is targeting low-hanging fruit. Stop exploiting Wiseau and encouraging such behavior. Stop being bad people.

Why did we have to see a scene with two random people making out with chocolate? Why was mark so busy? What is Lisa's problem? Of course, more meme questions. Many great films have unresolved plot points and raise questions. Though, it's not like these are particularly difficult to answer. They were in tuxedos because they were preparing for a wedding referenced throughout the film. They most likely just all got them the same day and got together for some sort of party. Who cares? This is a story about Johnny's psychological and emotional deterioration. These side characters are an extension of Johnny's character arc and all play a role in his eventual fate. We don't know what happens to the characters and are In the case of Denny, Johnny viewed him like a son. Seeing him resort to drugs aids in him feeling like a failure. Additionally, he wouldn't have even had access to a gun, had Chris R. not have come there earlier. Denny's role in the film, in my opinion, had a much more satisfying conclusion the way it is than have the film dwell more in the drug scene. Uh... another friend? It's not that difficult to deduce. There are plenty of other party guests there we don't see previously. Originally it was going to be Peter, which would have probably made the weight of those scenes stronger, but the actor left so a new character was written in. I don't see this as a bad thing really. They aren't random. They show up several times throughout the film. I'm not entirely sure why Johnny hosts them for their make-out sessions but the titular room does play a significant role in the film in that it encompasses both the tenderness and hardships of love. Chocolate is not a particularly uncommon motif for love either. Lisa is an unpleasant person raised by an unpleasant mother. She is bored with the conformity of mundanity and seeks drama to wreck havoc to make her life more interesting, not realizing the consequences of her actions.
