I know this is a bit of a niche question, but I've always felt that the 1998 film Fallen would've worked even better if it had been fused with 1999's End of Days. Fallen's biggest issue is that it feels so much like a TV movie-of-the-week rather than having a true auteur's flair, whereas I feel End of Days is positively oozing with appropriate mood and atmosphere. With that said, End of Days suffers from having to capitulate to being an Arnold Schwarzenegger shoot-'em-up (and I don't blame Arnie for that; he goes for broke and he's actually not bad, but the film would work so much better with more of an everyman in the role).
So if I could somehow make it happen, I would remix the two films together. I'd keep Denzel Washington as the protagonist, but I'd probably lean more into the apocalyptic atmosphere of End of Days, so rather than having Azazel show up, it's the Devil himself, just as he does in End of Days. Koteas stays (although I think he'd work better less as a possessed man and more of a rabid cultist), Goodman stays . . . but I'm also keeping CCH Pounder and Kevin Pollak from End of Days, because they were ace supporting players who would work very well, and the idea that they would be corrupted and "turned" makes a far more engaging film. As for the "love interest," I'd probably keep Embeth Davidtz because I really wasn't crazy about Robin Tunney's performance in End of Days, but honestly, you could probably flip a coin at this point. And of course, Gabriel Byrne sticks around with his gloriously ham-tastic performance as Old Scratch.
Anyway, what are some other films you think would work better if they'd been remixed with another, similarly lesser movie?

I know this isn't exactly what you are asking, but if the score from The Neon Demon was lifted, probably doesn't even needed to be re-worked and put in the place of Zimmer & Wallfisch for BR 2049. Still like the score fine, but I think it would be straight-up perfect with that.
other than that specific example, this isn't something I've thought about

This is a good thread which lends itself to horror especially since those often have great setups and poor follow through or they have good twists endings that are cool when the rest of the movie isn't.
I'd take the first half of Sinister which is like The Shining Jr. and is excellent with really creepy found footage stuff and then falls off a f'n cliff with a whole lot of laughable BS about the demon Bughuul (seriously, wtf) and I'd combine it with Creep. Creep is a too easy film but you have to admire how it ends just like you thought it would end, it doesn't swerve, it doesn't add anything extraneous, it feels inevitable.
It sort of leaves you saying "Damn I expected that ..........but didn't really expect that"
