He turned 46 today. Curious what you folks think of Ben as an actor and of course as a director.
IMO , fantastic director & solid enough actor in most things. Didn't like him as Batman though .
Favorite film would have to be The Town .

He's decent. He's like Clooney. I like him more than Clooney though, for one reason or another. Maybe it's that poor puppy look that he has. In the early 00s he was used primarily in that way, to make women feel like they can relate to a common guy, like the guy they went to school with who's now grown to be 30 but still the same regular Joe bro, but a man now. Because he plays characters that's gone through some tough life breaks. In fact, both of them appeal to 30-40 year old stay at home moms.... but Affleck started somewhat younger so he has that period (90s) in films where he still looked extremely young.
That being said, they were both in movies that were fun to watch. For Clooney it's Three Kings, O Brother Where Art Thou, Intolerable Cruelty, and From Dusk Till Dawn. All top 5 favorite films of the year contenders. For Affleck I really enjoyed The Town, Armageddon, Gone Baby Gone, and To the Wonder. And Gone Girl I thought his acting has improved. Still not great yet, but he's getting there and shedding some glances of his previous pretty boy self.
