What films were your particular favourite growing up, ones that you still appreciate now - even if just for nostalgic reasons?
I'm 17 lol, so childhood wasn't that long ago, but these were my general favourites:
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe Bridge to Terabithia Harry Potter (the whole franchise, although the films meant less to me than the books did at the time) The Witches Jaws Finding Nemo Spirited Away School of Rock

I watched a lot of movies as a kid:
Beauty and the Beast -- of course Down Periscope -- Still the funniest lowbrow comedy ever. "GODDAMN IT, MAN, DON'T GO BY THE BOOK! Think like a pirate! I want a man with a tattoo on his dick! Have I got that man?" Finding Forrester -- This got me through a lot when I was around 12-13 (the upper edge of what I would consider "childhood") The Fox and the Hound -- For all of its faults, this is a magnificent tearjerker. It was my favorite movie for a very, very long time. The Great Mouse Detective -- I enjoyed this as a very fun action romp as a kid. Now I appreciate it for being the best Sherlock Holmes adaptation ever, and for letting Vincent Price loose on an unsuspecting children's audience. The Hunt for Red October -- I wore out the tape on this one. Jurassic Park -- natch The Lion King -- another Disney classic The Maltese Falcon -- I'm realizing how awesome kid me's taste was, and how cool it is that I was exposed to this movie when I was young. Mission: Impossible -- I enjoyed this twisty, tricky action thriller much more than the stuff with big explosions and fighting. Star Wars trilogy -- natch Twister -- I would strip to my underwear and run around screaming when no one was around. I wish I could watch this alone so I could do it again. "It's the wonder of nature, baby!"

Scooby Doo on Zombie Island. I still think it's pretty good, especially for a kids movie.

La région centrale Vai~E~Vem Heroic Purgatory When I was really young Muppets Treasure Island was my favourite movie, but it quickly became E.T.
Also loved the Jurassic Park films, The Mummy movies, Indiana Jones and many many more most of which are beyond recollection. I was crazy about dinosaurs, pirates, and ancient Egypt for some reason.

Also from this thread: Harry Potter 1 and 2 (still the best) Loved Hook Loved the Home Alones Spirited Away (tho that's later than the others, when it came out in blockbuster, far from 2001) Lione King is still on my watchlist Oh and LOTR ofc
