I saw this for the first time recently. It was a massive flop upon release, but I found it enjoyable in a "guilty pleasure" kind of way. Streep is divine and absolutely hilarious in her Golden Globe-nominated turn - if you're a fan of Death Becomes Her, I think you will like this film. Johnny_HellzapoppinLinda Hunt also has a scene-stealing (if thankless) role as an unwitting accomplice in Roseanne's mission to take Streep and her philandering husband (Ed Begley Jr.) down. Have you seen this? What did you think?

Totally awesome. One of my favorite Streep performances. And my favorite performance from nasty mean bitch Roseanne. Reminds me of Waters.

I've seen it a few times, and it is such a fun movie for its time. The cast are all a lot of fun, and it is yet more proof that comedic Streep is a match for dramatic Streep.
If I was to throw some side-eye at it, I do feel it is laughable that anyone is expected to believe that 2 women would get worked up and competitive over Ed Begley Jr., but hey, Hollywood was even more of a mans world back then.

I think it's better than almost every single one of Streep's actual nominations, and if it's not in her top five overall it's pretty damn close.

Honestly ever since I was little I got this confused with Death Becomes Her, so much so that I think the two movies warped themselves into one conglomerate of awfulness.
I would say both warrant a rewatch, but who am I kidding? I watched Set it Up the other night...
