Currently knee-deep in a script adaptation of a book that takes place at the end of the sixties and I'm drawing a lot of inspiration from Almost Famous and Boogie Nights so I've been listening to a LOT of mid-late sixties songs while writing. I want it to have that same two-plus hour event upon event upon event with a coming of age conclusion structure that those two films have. Something as a film you'd want to rewatch over and over despite its run time. Time Capsule Soundtrack movies are some of my personal favorites and always hit audiences in the sweet spot and make for a great track list that embeds into the fabric of the story. So far some tracks that I would ideally feature are "April Come She Will" and "America" by Simon and Garfunkel and "Get Together" by the Youngbloods. It also really helps me get into the scene while writing because it really emphasizes a tone and rhythm to each scene.
Other examples are definitely: GoodFellas, Blow, The Wolf of Wall Street, Dazed and Confused. Any others to suggest?
