I'm still not entirely sold on it but it looks like it'll have the kind of heart the other Transformers movies pretended that they had.

Well, looks like this will be the first Transformers I end up watching since the LaBeouf era. Like you said, this looks like it has more heart. I’ll keep my expectations at a mild level though.

I'm mildly interested in this only because of Hailee Steinfeld and Travis Knight.

Surprisingly this looks really nice. Travis Knight to save the Transformers franchise.

I think I'll probably pass on that one.

It looked mildly interesting (in a predictable "doesn't look so bad for another soulless corporate product" kind of way) until the end. That cheap, stupid, overused joke spent all the goodwill I had.

I actually chuckled at that part. The “humor” in the other movies was arguably the worst thing about them. I still haven’t forgiven the masturbation joke, or the dogs fucking in the middle of an action scene, or just all of LaBeouf’s performance in the third. “DO NOT HIT MY CAR ITS A CLASSIC RAAAAAAAAHHHHHH”. ...sorry

It looks way more promising and heartfelt than it has the right to be, and I’m always down for the lady Steinfeld. But it also pisses me off.
Like, how did Bumblebee shrink in size? Wasn’t he huge when he took down the Nazi party? Why is this girl so unrealistically unfazed by this giant transforming robot? And most importantly, if the army are trying to track Bee down in the 80’s, WHY THE HELL DID IT TAKE UNTIL 2007 BEFORE THE WORLD TOOK NOTICE OF THE TRANSFORMERS?!

This is pretty much Lindsay Lohan's Herby with the intentions of a franchise.

But in all seriousness, I'm actually a bit surprised by how decent and more heartfelt the tone is from this spinoff compare to the rest of the movie franchise. It also helps that Travis Knight is directing this one too.

Getting Iron Giant vibes from this...

This looks like something that could potentially be decent, if derivative, for a good portion of the runtime, with heart and humor, before eventually devolving into mind-numbing cacophony by the end because of brand expectations.

really enjoyed the teaser because it momentarily made me forget that this film exists in a dumb universe. this trailer is disappointing because it's a reality check.
that last shot...fuck off Bay. The technical and precise CGI-work in these films can't make up for the fact that nothing onscreen makes a fucking lick of sense. Hard to enjoy action like that, and hard to care about characters in supposed peril when nothing is actually perilous to them. Two giant robots fighting on top of you? No biggie. Just keep running straight and you'll be fine.
