Wow! It looks like they really nailed Malek looking like Mercury. I only hope the rest of the film can live up to that image, but I have a feeling it probably won't. I mean I don't think it will be terrible, but probably something like Get on Up or I Saw the Light where Malek is a contender before the film is screened but quickly falls out once Bohemian Rhapsody is seen. I just hope that it leads to better opportunities for Malek if it doesn't turn out to be as successful as he might like.

Hard to tell considering how photoshopped that picture is.
I still think the biggest thing for Malek to overcome is the voice since he has marbles-in-his-cheeks syndrome.

Can't wait to see how bad this movie is.

My expectations for this are so low that I'll more than likely not hate it as much as I expect to.

May be an early badly on-set shot photo, but he doesn't look great.

...and the trailer My expectations for this are low enough, but the almost complete lack of dialogue in the trailer has dragged them even lower. I just worry that this is going to be shoddily written, and that is never a good thing for a biopic.

They got the look right, but it's all gonna come down to the writing here. Love & Mercy is kind of the bar that all musician biopics need to aspire to, and even though Malek looks very good as Mercury in an aesthetic sense, it's all for naught if the script isn't good.

The did good job recreating period. If he doesn't score nod for this then I'll be shocked.

Hope the next trailer actually does something to make me think it looks good instead of using the music as a crutch and hoping that my love for Queen will somehow translate into anticipation for this.

I don't care if this ends up sucking. It's Queen, I'm watching.

It looks really bad. On a sidenote, it's a pet peeve of mine when, in a music biopic, the actors dub the original songs instead of singing themselves. I dig Phoenix as Johnny Cash, but Walk The Like would've been tough to watch if he was just dubbing Cash's voice. It's off-putting and distracting. I always think "oh, that really doesn't sound like the actor's speaking voice".

Oh honey, he looks nothing like Prince... Why didn't they use his more iconic hits like Billie Jean is not my lover and I heard it on the Grapevine?
Clearly, it's been dumbed down for the masses and isn't for serious fans.
Ever since I was turned down for Whitney role I'm so over these music biopics that are so unrealistic!

I don't think he's dubbing here. At least in the trailers, they're using Queen's original vocals. I'll deliver one of my kidneys to a cannibal should that actually be Malek's voice (I'm fairly confident here considering the two lines in the trailer sounded nothing like him).

I'm probably getting it mixed up with another story.

Looks terrible, I don’t think they could have squeezed more Queen songs in that trailer. Really wish we got Sasha Baron Cohen’s version.

Now this longer trailer is much more like it. I 'm still not expecting a lot from it, but I no longer fully expect it to be awful...I have a little hope on the positive side now.
