I think mine is Small Time Crooks - Tracey Ullman and Elaine May are hilarious, and there are so many great one-liners. How about you?

By "lower tier" I'm just gonna go based on something that Allen himself was not nominated for...
My pick would be Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Oh a lot of them, but Manhattan Murder Mystery is a fantastic one - love everything about that movie.
There's 2 Woody Allen movies that were bombs - flat out bad reviews - that are completely misunderstood Celebrity and Anything Else that are, quite good too imo. Deconstructing Harry is another one - although the reviews there were better - those are his bitter pill movies, they don't go down easy but they aren't BS and anybody who likes anything about Woody Allen needs to see them.

Small Time Crooks probably. Hilarious and underrated.

Recently, Irrational Man.
Overall, probably Manhattan Murder Mystery for me as well. The scene with Alan Alda shouting "HELEN" then hiding kills me every time.

Small Time Crooks, although i certainly enjoyed Manhattan Murder Mystery and Shadows and Fog too. And The Curse of the Jade Scorpion was pretty good.

Take the Money and Run/Whatever Works/Irrational Man/Manhattan Murder Mystery
whichever of those is considered low tier

Pretty surprised by all the Small Time Crooks mentions. I actually think that's Woody's worst. I thought it was shockingly unfunny. As for my favorite "lower-tier" stuff from Woody I would choose:
Take the Money and Run, Cassandra's Dream & Melinda and Melinda.

I'll go with the 'when he didn't get an Oscar nomination' criteria.
Small Time Crooks is one of his most entertaining films, very insubstantial, but a lot of fun and the ensemble is terrific. I also have a lot of time for Curse of the Jade Scorpion and Everyone Says I Love You. I think my favourite, however, is Another Woman - I'm surprised nobody's mentioned that yet.

I love Manhattan Murder Murder Mystery. Allen and Keaton have a lot of chemistry and the movie is pretty funny. Zelig is one my favorite Allen's screenplays, and it's a shame he wasn't recognized for that. I also have a lot of fun with Radio Days, Deconstructing Harry and Everybody Says I Love You.

I know someone tired this before but we should have an ultimate Woody Allen Greatest list with a variety of categories such as best actress, actor, favorite line, favorite movie title... etc.
