Any of you guys go floating? If so, how do you like it?
I’m doing it tomorrow for my first time so I’m pretty excited. Just learnt about it yesterday actually. I would smoke before I do it, but I’ll just take some CBD oil before I go so I’m feeling even more relaxed.

Lord, no. With my claustrophobia, I’d be flipping out in 30 seconds.

Lord, no. With my claustrophobia, I’d be flipping out in 30 seconds. Take acid before doing it then.

I only float in pools/the sea lol I would love to do that, it must feel like heaven on an acid trip.

Why would I want my senses depraved Well not necessarily depraved, but moreso reduced. Since your brain doesn’t have to work with all of the extra stimuli that’s going around you (sound of a tv, light from anywhere, even something as simple as feeling your body lay in the bed), you’re able to really dig deeper and have very creative thoughts, since it’s just you and your thoughts for that time. These thoughts can be quite visual too. It’s apparently very beneficial for your mood, as well as pain which can last even for the next day or two. I’ve heard a lot of people say that it makes them look at life a little differently too and become calmer (these people are regular ‘floaters’). People did it back then with caves. They’d go deep into caves and stay there to get a deep introspection.

So I did this today. Was hard to turn my mind off for around the first 15-25 minutes (didn’t help that they played music and had the lights on for the first 15 minutes). After that though, it was pretty amazing. There was around 20 minutes or so where I knew I wasn’t asleep, but I was not thinking of a single thing. It was a weird ass feeling. That’s the only time where I was able to just fully let go in the tank (was in there for around an hour). It was more relaxing than introspective (this is apparently normal for the first few times you go into a tank, especially when it’s only around an hour and when you have no other experiences with meditation).
I came out feeling really, really good. I’m a pretty mild tempered person, but I felt way more calm. I’d suggest anyone to try this out. It’d be hard if you were claustrophobic, but in my tank there was a bit of decent space to move around in, plus you know if anything goes bad (which is impossible), you can always just open up the door.
