With or without the re-release numbers?

I could see it passing Titanic's domestic gross. No way it touches $2 billion (or $1.8 billion if we're going with just Titanic's original release) worldwide, though.

With or without the re-release numbers? I was just thinking of original release of $600 mil but it is possible that it could surpass re-release also.

It doesn't get reported that way. Besides inflation wise Gone With the Wind is the king of the world.

I know haters gonna hate but Black Panther earned it's shine so stop trying to rub it off.
So when it scores that BP nod...just zip it zip it real good.

I'm in a state of denial because Titanic is a masterpiece whereas Black Panther is a piece of shit

No disrespect to Black Panther - it's a fine film and MBJ is legitimately great in it - but making this kind of money in 2018 just doesn't mean as much as it did in 1997.
I mean, Marvel films are almost guaranteed at least $400 million domestic upon release, right? People were predicting that Titanic would be a massive flop.

Ummmmmmmmmmmm no. $700 MILLION (1) Black Panther $600 million (3) Ininty War and Avengers $500 million (3) see above $400 million (6) Civil War and Age of Ultron That's it out of 20 movies. Now, we all know that 1997 dollars is not the same as 2018 but that does not just pertain to BP. In box office, $100 million is still considered a milestone even though it is not as impressive admission wise. In 2017, 139 movies released on 1000 or more screens. Only 33 made $100 mil.

Titanic made approx $600 miles in 1997 and approx $657 including re-releases. Well, I guess 33 is a lot and the benefit is inflation. However, when you look at the next level, $200 million only 13 did it last year and $300 only 8. So no matter how you slice and dice it $700 million for a movie with a black lead super hero is impressive especially with the above mentioned stats.

The fact Black Panther became only the 3rd movie to reach $700 million (unadjusted for inflation) is still impressive.
