I don't think Italians like being called pigs.

When I was a kid I had a guinea Pig and I convinced my parents to let me get a second one. So I headed to the petshop and asked for a male guinea pig because the one I had already was male, and I didn't want to end up with a dozen guinea pigs. Well anyways, the idiot or asshole in the petshop sold me a female guinea pig and I'm sure you all know how this story ends.

I'm a fan..........I have a strange history with them because I have a lot of ex-girlfriends who have had them - and I often have spent time with them having profound discussions about cinema and really obscure post-punk bands. They don't contribute much but they occasionally will squeak and they listen and that's enough.
Um.
It seems to me what makes them cooler then any of their rodent peers is they don't have a tail......tails are gross, guinea pigs in that way are more like bunnies. They do this thing when excited called "popcorning" (not kidding), where they jump around, in place. It's simultaneously adorable, funny and disturbing.

Guinea pigs are awesome. My favorite of the small animals you can keep as pets. I love my furbabies. What pacinoyes says is correct. They do popcorn when they are really happy or excited about something. It's the cutest thing ever. And guinea pigs make the cutest noises. They make these squealing noises called "wheeking" when they are excited about food or playtime out of their cage. Although I can't ever open the refrigerator or accidentally rustle a plastic bag without hearing those noises because they always think it's time for their veggies. Taking care of them is closer to taking care of a rabbit than say other rodents, although I think they are even nicer than rabbits and more relaxed.
