Also, you missed that her latest porject is about OnlyFans. Any more hints that she just might be a huge sex freak?Just her husband saying she's a huge sex freak........ ...btw you can play this game with Meg Ryan too - although this board is too asexual to do it: Only plays nice girls or groupies / perverts (Jim Morrison's addict girlfriend, hooker (Hurlyburly), dumped bad girl (Addicted to Love), sex addict - sorta (In The Cut).....tells THE BEST dirty joke in DOA..........dumped her husband (and kids) irl to cheat, in public like a lunatic - with fat-ass, formerly great actor Russell Crowe...........signs were there all along tbh.......um..........just sayin Nicole Kidman is both blushing over and reluctantly accepting her husband Keith Urban’s song lyrics about their (apparently lively) sex life. In the grand tradition of Usher’s “Yeah!,” in which the rapper Ludacris declares his desire for “a lady in the streets but a freak in the bed,” Urban noted Kidman’s dual sexual and intellectual prowess in his 2018 song “Gemini,” singing, “She’s a maniac in the bed but a brainiac in her head.”

What's this weird obsession with her sex scenes about? Giving some misogynistic vibes tbh.

What's this weird obsession with her sex scenes about? Giving some misogynistic vibes tbh. Yes miogynistic because she enjoys filming them and I enjoy watching them and listing them.......let me know if I can do anything to make it go from vibes to "definitely a misogynist"

This top 16 for Kidman's performances is astonishing. Really brings into focus just how incredible and versatile she's been over the years She may not be flavor of the month on this board any longer, but I stand by my assertion that this woman is the greatest English speaking actress in the world today, with the greatest body of performances to her name. It also speaks to why she's getting the AFI life achievement award around the same age Meryl Streep recieved it.
Nice to see her latest performance in Expats cracking her best performances for some.

pupdurcs, who would be your ideal director collaborations for Kidman?

pupdurcs , who would be your ideal director collaborations for Kidman? Well first off, I'd like her to take a break. She works like she's broke . And she has nothing left to prove. However, I think it'd be nice for her to work with Yorgos Lanthimos again, since they worked so well together on The Killing Of A Sacred Deer. But Emma Stone is guarding him so jealously now, that may be an impossibility Spike Lee would be very interesting for Kidman. I feel like he'd bring out an interesting side of her. She could have done Jodie Foster's part in Inside Man, but I thought Foster was great in that role and wouldn't want her replaced. Barry Jenkins, which is very possible, since his partner Lulu Wang just directed her in Expats. The Coen Brothers ( but only if Joel is on board, as a team or solo. If it's just Ethan, then no thanks. I think Kidman could have won her second Oscar if she was cast as Lady Macbeth in The Tragedy Of Macbeth)

pupdurcs , who would be your ideal director collaborations for Kidman? I’m not pupdurcs , but my first thoughts were Todd Haynes and Pablo Larraín. I thought Todd Haynes for a moment , but I don't know if he'd bring anything new out of Kidman that she hasn't already done in several other movies or TV shows. I feel like Kidman has mostly already covered the types of female characters that Haynes likes to focus on in other projects. Yes, Kidman could do Moore's role in May/December, but she's done that kind of thing several times already, imho. I'd like to see her work with auteurs that can potentially push her in completely new directions. That's why I like when she does things like The Paperboy, Destroyer and The Northman, that demand her to tap into new sides of her character range. That's why I mentioned Lee, Jenkins, The Coens and Lanthimos again. I think they'd all probably go out of their way to give her a character that she hasn't neccesarily done already. Larrain might be interesting. All his female led movies have been based on famous real women, so it depends on which real life famous woman he'd see Kidman as right for. But I could see a collaboration there that demands something different from Kidman.

pupdurcs - I wouldn’t mind seeing her re-tread similar territory with an auteur like Haynes, though! I think she’d be wonderful in a Sirkian homage or in a gender-bending role like Blanchett in ‘I’m Not There’, for instance. Plus, I just really think she would love working with him. He is so sweet. Actors adore him. Moore, Blanchett, and Winslet have all said that working with him is like working with your best girlfriend.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's wise for Kidman ( or any actress/actor these days) to do "gender bending" roles. There's too much backlash when cis-gendered performers do gender bending roles these days. Kidman famously was trying to do a genderbending role for many years ( she was attached for a long time to The Danish Girl, in the role Eddie Redmayne eventually ended up playing) , but I think her window has gone now to do that, due to current sensibilities and backlash.

Said it before ..she would have killed to play the Moore role May December - s much so she is filming her own version now ....the sex, the younger male, the sex, um........ I'm not sure I get this notion that Kidman (who has too many roles on her plate as it is) was dying to play Moore's role in May/December. I'm sure she considered it a very good role and probably would have said yes if she was offered it, but you act like it was some tour de force "role of the century" that Kidman would be kicking herself over not getting for the rest of her life. It really wasn't . Moore wasn't Oscar nominated ( not that that is the be all and end all) and no one is saying the film is an all-time masterpiece. So what exactly is Kidman supposed to be so perturbed about It's a good part that went to someone else, but Kidman would have experienced that dozens of times in her career. It's a nothingburger. It's almost like saying Kidman is raging with envy that she didn't get Jodie Foster's or Annette Benning's roles in Nyad. Kidman can't play every role for an actress in her age group that has Oscar potential, and I'm pretty sure she knows that. Now if you were talking about Cate Blanchett's role in Tar, I might get it. That's a role any actress would have seen the script for and thought, "I can win an Oscar here". It's a unique part as well . Female conductor . Moore's role in May/December was good, but not that good.

Not gonna lie… I wish there had been a hot sex scene between Moore and Melton in ‘May December’. I know Kidman and Harris Dickinson will bring it in their new film, though.

Well there aren't many more opportunties like this are there at this stage..... Babygirl - An erotic thriller. A career woman (kidman) in her 40s has an affair with a 21-year-old intern (Dickinson). Romy has a beautiful family (including her loving husband Jacob) and a thriving business - she is adored (and sometimes feared) by all.

That's a role any actress would have seen the script for and thought, "I can win an Oscar here". I genuinely believe that the only actor who chooses roles based on this metric is Leonardo DiCaprio.

The most iconic and greatest actress of her generation is getting 3 more AMC ads, after she helped get people back into American cinemas after the Covid pandemic era, with her now iconic ad, which screens before all movies at AMC theatres.
Always found it fascinating that Kidman was chosen for this, especially over American star actresses.

I hope he's wrong, but a guy I know who works at AMC said that his manager told him that the 3 'new ads' are actually just shorter edits of the OG one.

A well deserved AFI Lifetime Achievement Award. I think the very first time I've seen Nicole Kidman on screen was in Bangkok Hilton (in a French dubbed version on TV), it's still to this day one of my favorites projects she has been part of, it may feels a little bit dated but it's very captivating, tense and moving with curly Nicole delivering her finest pre-To Die For performance and a career's best performance from Denholm Elliott. It should be more well known.

All i'm saying is that she could win next season between Babygirl and Holland Michigan. If some Emma Stone can win two Oscars, why can't she???Ok, sure, why not.............. I'll play: * If the argument is Kidman is a bigger star (true) - oh well tough break, way it goes.......Kirk Douglas never got 1, Walter Brennan got 3.......they mean nothing * If the argument is Kidman is a "better" actress (not to me at 35) that never has anything to do with it either....... * If your argument is Babygirl and Holland, Michigan are going to get anywhere near Saiorse Ronan this year .........well......no * ........Kidman - according to her fanboys is "undernominated" ......not to me - this board voted her the 8th best actress of ALL TIME - GTFO .............but Stone has the same number of nominations - in 10 years - and 1 more win with 20+ years on her no matter how many "40 year olds" she wants to play....... * Random note: Poor Things isn't even Stone's best performance THIS YEAR ffs and it was the best performance in movies in 2023 - The Curse is her best performance this year imo........I mean come on.......this girl is on fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire........ make this argument some other year but not after that all timer 2023 Stone had * The main reason and I say this all the time...........Stone had a Power Pop song written about her before she ever got an Oscar nod and it's a great one.......all Kidman did was boff Tom Cruise and get Botox..........what, too much?
