I say after Trump's impeachment. It'll sweep all the awards.
Who can you see directing, being cast etc.? I never thought casting Donald Trump would be so difficult tbh.

Not a fan of that toddler in chief either but you can't just impeach someone because you don't like him or his policies.

^ it was a joke. Point of my post is to actually discuss the potential this has to become a film in the near future.

No idea about a movie, but I hope like hell they get Hilary Clinton to do the audio book.

They'll make it into HBO miniseries and it'll sweep the globes and emmy's.

Tell all books like this are usually not really art and usually do not have the structure to make great films. I'd rather a great filmmaker just do his own thing with Trump once he's gone and give us the definitive film. Maybe a Sorkin/Fincher reunion.

Sorkin would lace in James Joyce metaphors I doubt the real Trump would even know. But I could see it working as a Wolf of Wall Street type movie. Scorsese/Winter would be great.

Sorkin went a little overboard (for the era) in writing dumb conservative characters on The West Wing, although for Trump it would actually be appropriate.

I came up with my own dream cast of who would play everyone in that whole administration, plus those on Hillary’s team...although I made it up a while ago so I don’t remember all but I might have some better updates.
Trump - Brendan Gleeson Junior - Timothy Olyphant Eric - Michael Rapaport Ivanka- Blake Lively Tiffany - Jennifer Lawrence Barron - Jacob Tremblay Melania - Cate Blanchett Pence - Ed Harris Bannon - Stacy Keach Conway - Laura Dern Hillary - Joan Allen
I would say this is prime material for an Oliver Stone project but I don’t want him making it. I’d honestly pick Affleck or Joe Wright to do it.

Before HBO cancelled their proposed series with Jay Roach.... I was thinking maybe Mike Myers for Trump.... he's worked with Roach a lot and I think could actually pull off the look.....

Didn't realize Jay Roach jumped onto the Fire and Fury adaptation as director, announced back in March - it's being set up as a series. Still think Mike Myers for Trump if they're gonna lean into the comedy.
Otherwise, I'm thinking maybe Vincent D'Onofrio? Especially if Netflix picks up the project bc he's been working on Daredevil or w/e with them. Figured on him bc of his recent tweet: he asked if "Now is the right time for me to play a real life character who is an irredeemable racist in a dramatic series?” Which, umm....may actually be Trump he's talking about lol.

I actually thought he was talking about Steve Bannon, but D'Onofrio as Trump would be . . . interesting casting.
