Hi, guys. I'm not the most active poster in here, but what the hell. I got fired today from my job, one I've been in for one year. I'm really sad and I don't really understand what happened there, since I was one of the most hard-working and best employees from my job. Anyways Can you people recommend me some movie that could, idk, lift me up or make me reflect on this thing? I was thinking of Toni Erdmann or Frances Ha. Thanks x

Sorry to hear that, best of luck to ya going forward, something better is coming up I'm sure. I would say M*A*S*H which you wouldn't necessarily think of, but in many ways it's skewered worldview dovetails perfectly with that sort of dislocated feeling of losing a job. Worked for me at least.

I've had this film on my watchlist, guess I'll definetly give it a go after weeks procrastinating. And thank you for the kind words

Ikiru Le Signe du Lion Modern Times Berlin Alexanderplatz (this is the best depiction of being down and out there is, the lead character is jobless multiple times and works in like 5 different jobs) The Before trilogy Best of luck! Edit: Of course I also double up pacinoeyes rec for The Last Laugh. That film is massive.

I'm so sorry to hear that, man. Hoping you find something really soon. Please keep us posted!
I would just suggest watching something that will make you laugh. Have you seen The Disaster Artist yet?

It was actually the last thing I watched in 2017. It's so funny, but I feel really bad for Tom Wisseau?? Poor dude, even if he's kind of creepy.
