Don't know why I even bother, nothing ever comes in two days and currently UPS says they delivered my package to my front door yesterday, despite people being home at all hours of the day (currently 5 adults) and not a package to be found.
And I can't even file a complaint because it hasn't been 36 hours yet.

Could someone have stolen it? Sometimes UPS marks stuff delivered early, but if it's not there by later tonight then something is definitely fishy.
But yeah.... I usually don't have any problems with them, but sometimes they piss me off. I was ordering a book for my brother for Christmas (at the last minute, of course -- the 20th) and it said it was in stock, but when I went to checkout it said it wouldn't get there until the 29th. But then when I tried the one-day shipping option for $10 extra, it said it'd get there the 21st no problem. I even chatted with someone and they couldn't come up with a good enough excuse. I had to just buy another book.

I had to just buy another book. That sucks. As for me, it *could* have been stolen, but like I said it's a packed house and we have a dog. Should the giant UPS truck pull up in front, someone is likely to notice (they said it was an 11am dropoff, where everyone was home and awake at that point). I even searched everywhere... the bushes, the side of the house, etc. I mean, it's just a package of two of my workout shirts (Hane's, no less so it's like $13 with tax... not like they are $40 UnderArmor or Reebok shirts) but it's just the principle. It's not the first time they said "out for delivery" when the package still hasn't left the facility or "delivered" when the package 97% probably did not. Now that there's snow on the ground, it's probably going to delay it further. Plus, I'm not looking forward to contacting the seller to basically say, "yeah, that multi-billion dollar company is lying".

They'll refund you... But you will have to file a police report first.

They'll refund you... But you will have to file a police report first. Thing is, I know that there's like a 95% chance it's still on the UPS truck and the guy just marked it as delivered to meet a quota of some kind. So it's just gonna be a ridiculous delay to get literally two Hanes shirts totaling $13 that I would have just picked up from somewhere like WalMart had I known it would have been this much trouble/wait.

Can't tell if I'm talking to an actual human or a sentient robot atm.
Either way, calling UPS was a fucking joke and a waste of time... "Driver says he put it at your front door... maybe someone in the house took it for you... blah blah not our problem..."
Yeah yeah.
Start up a chat with Amazon and they're all "Shipper says your item was accidentally marked as delivered and it is on the way!"
...
I then tried to call UPS back to say something very uncouth. However when I was sent from menu to menu again, I just hung up.

I've always gotten my packages with no issues. Also listen to prime music quite often so that's a bonus.

In my experience, Amazon is excellent as far as customer service. However, UPS, USPS, and especially Fed-Ex really suck at getting their deliveries right. The absolute worst is Fed Ex Smartpost where Fed Ex will ship and then transfer the package to USPS who then make the final delivery. Something always gets fucked up, so I refuse to ship that way.

Yeah, Amazon sorted it out right away. UPS was basically all "according to our records you touched it last so it's your problem!"

These shipping companies lose it and then it's your problem. I think Amazon realizes the value of keeping a frequent customer happy, so they would rather get it straightened out than risk pissing off customers over one lost item when there is a high likelihood that a Prime customer will spend much more money in the future. It's smart business. That's one of the reasons why they are as successful as they are. And I repeat: beware of Fed Ex Smartpost. Not only because of my experience. I've heard too many people have problems with that.
