I like Seth a lot and think he's really becoming a better and better actor.
But no. A million times no.

I'm always up for a comedic actor breaking type. Let's see what happens.

Honestly, I'm into it. Rogen has proven himself as a dramatic actor before, and I like when comedic actors go outside of their comfort zone.

Huh. As a native English speaker, I have to ask... what does "ankling" mean?

Thats more like it. Chris Pine is one of my favorite actors working today and is superior to Seth Rogen in every way when it comes to acting (whether it be drama OR comedy). Pine mops the floor with that man child hack.

Meh. Rogen was more interesting. Pine is an infinitely better actor than Rogen. This is a gigantic trade-up. Rogen would simply be playing a version of himself as Cronkite. He's a decent writer/behind the scenes creative, but Rogen's onscreen career shows the power of getting in with the right people in Hollywood. A powerful network (James Franco, Judd Apatow etc) got him way further than his actual ability merited.

He has great dramatic chops ( Take This Waltz) and I think he's got untapped gravitas potential. I like Pine, but I don't think he's a more exciting choice for this role.

Haven't seen Take This Waltz. But I have seen Steve Jobs and was mightly unimpressed by his "dramatic chops" in that one. So I've already got a weak impression of him on that score.
