It's a dead heat between Cate Blanchett & Naomi Watts, but I can't decide who is #1 and who is #2. Watts has higher highs, but Blanchett has the more impressive resume overall. Tough call. Michelle Williams would be a strong #3, though, and is EASILY the #1 greatest actress UNDER 40!

CHARLIZE THERON, CHRISTINA RICCI, JESSICA CHASTAIN and MICHELLE WILLIAMS are all bonafide actresses under 40 with extensive performances to back it up.
A lot of those on the younger side listed just have the potential to be great.

I looked it up and Toni Collette is still under 50. She turns it in a couple of weeks.  But really, Marion Cotillard has become my favorite because I've seen more from her since I last posted in this thread (and I think she should be getting better projects at the moment). I like Michelle Williams too. |
