I'm okay with them taking Fantastic Four, but I think Fox has done too well with X-Men lately and with too many promising future projects, that if those projects are affected in any way, I'm gonna be really pissed. Finally, Fox grew balls and started releasing R-rated and experimental films in the X-Men series and now they want to hand them over to the cleaner MCU? If Disney owns the property but lets it remain as it was, and maybe years later decide to incorporate the X-Men into the MCU continuity, I'll accept it, but don't do it now.

I wonder if we'll start seeing some bids for TWC's catalogue as well.

Had that deal not fell through, I’d assume they wouldn’t have done too much to alter things. I just think they really wanted A New Hope back in their dominion (correct me if I’m wrong, but Fox still holds some rights over that one).

^^^ Yeah I too wouldn't count those greedy power hungry bastards at Disney out just yet. I really hope it doesn't happen though.
Come on 20th Century Fox , you can't give in!

From a strategic standpoint, I could see how Disney would find some benefits with this kind of deal and vice versa for 21st Century Fox. The ultimate end game there is pretty much to acquire a shared Marvel Universe and the rest of the Star Wars domain. Even though the news on this went kinda quiet (for now?), that's still really something.

Will this mean we will get a restoration of the original Star Wars without the crappy CGI Jabba scene?

Will this mean we will get a restoration of the original Star Wars without the crappy CGI Jabba scene? I get the feeling that’s one of their main motives. Like I said, Fox still holds the rights to A New Hope forever (and 5-6 and 1-3 are theirs through May 2020), preventing Disney from doing such a thing. If they’re successful, and give us the original, untouched movies in 4K, I will buy it four times over. And I get the feeling Fox knows other people would too.

Makes morse sense than them acquiring Fox for X-Men (who I don't think they could even include in their MCU without it being even more overblown with characters, not to mention they wouldn't touch Deadpool with a 40 foot pole).

Since 20th Century makes the Alien movies and the xenomorphs are born from the xenomorph queen, can we now say that xenomorphs are Disney princesses?

It has happenend now.
I don't think this is good news. I'm a fan of having more separate studios.

Crazy this actually happened. I've got mixed feelings about it, as I feel it could be bad for future film studios, but acknowledge at the same time it has me kinda interested, as I'm curious to see what Disney will do with most of Fox's titles.
