Be still, my heart. ingmarhepburn What do you think of Hepburn's Tony-nominated (natch ) performance, as best you can tell from this clip?

Well she has great energy that's for sure - it's hard to tell but she seems into it...not a great singer but that's besides the point if you sell it (she's acting the song after all)........I think that was her only musical and she got a bad break because she was up against her friend Lauren Bacall who won. I'm not much of a believer in the Tony Award nowadays and for about the last 20 years (it's been turned into a crooked award imo more than the Oscar or Emmy but I digress) but at that time they were tremendously competitive and interesting races.......

pacinoyes - This show seems so ripe for revival, don't you think? I think it would be popular on the West End, too. Similarly, I'm surprised Lagerfeld hasn't incorporated Hepburn-inspired designs into one of Chanel's seasons, given the success of this production. I could totally see him doing a Paris-Hartford Métiers d'Art show at the Hepburn estate in Kate's honor.

Oh honey, I've always hated the fact they never cast a French actress to play Coco Chanel!
It's just Hepburn being Hepburn being her fast talking energetic sense...

@ Tyler - Yes I don't think show has ever received a revival although honestly the most acclaimed shows (musicals especially) become part of the canon and they get done over and over once they're part of it. It's very boring what gets done on Broadway sadly. I do think the iconography of film, fashion, theater, etc is something that we should see more of in shows and in general - but you actually see it usually just to sell you something - i.e. James Dean's iconic look will be used to sell you sneakers or what have you, something simple like that. That's what's potentially special about PTA's Phantom Thread in theory.............anyway Lagerfeld could do a whole thing on powerful 20th century women and his Hepburn pant suit with sharp lapels would be the centerpiece.

Wow, thank you for this treat I'm not at all familiar with her work off screen, so this was really nice to see. Watching her performing on a stage must have been quite an experience. She looks full of energy and passion (as she always does), and I actually liked her singing. I bet she nailed this part. Nice work with the production and costumes too.

I think that was her only musical and she got a bad break because she was up against her friend Lauren Bacall who won. And then ten years later, Bacall got her second Tony for the musical version of Hepburn's Woman of the Year.

Oh honey, I've always hated the fact they never cast a French actress to play Coco Chanel! Oh honey, Broadway did replace Hepburn with Danielle Darrieux when Katie was ready to go back to Connecticut, but ticket sales plummeted.
