A thread for the theater it is. Really, I just want to geek out about the play I saw last night. Does anyone know Mike Bartlett's King Charles III?
I saw a production in D.C. that blew my socks off. My mom said it was the second best play she's ever seen, and while I wouldn't go that far, it was unexpectedly great. Thought it would be a huge bore, but wound up being one of the most fascinating and entertaining works about political power plays I've ever seen. Every character is believable and sympathetic, and the plot is a twisting, twisted portrait of politics seen through a funhouse mirror. It's a pretty recent play, so I'm not sure how familiar anyone would be with it.
And has anyone seen Eclipsed with Lupita Nyong'o? I'm planning on watching a production of Macbeth from the Eclipsed director (Liesl Tommy) next month, and wondering if anyone knew her work.

I've heard great things, but obviously it'll be tough for me to ever get around to seeing it. Glad that you dug it.
