I just can't wrap my mind around the fact that Scorsese is producing a superhero film. *supervillain

WEll.. I am not sure if that is actually a good idea. That character is supposed to be mysterious and secretive. A film about it will overuse him and make him boring and he will lose the aura he usually has.
Less is more in that case.
The Joker won't be as iconic as he was once the film gets out…no matter how good the acting is, not even if Heath Ledger himself gets resurrected and plays the role …. the character won't be the same anymore after a full length film about him.

Hahaha, yeah no. There is no way he's accepting this, plus it doesn't make much sense. If they're doing an origin movie why pick a guy who would be in his mid 40's when they start filming. Like for comparison Heath Ledger was late 20's in The Dark Knight.

I have no idea what DC/WB are doing and IMO I don't think they know either.

He's definitely not doing this one. Yeah, I'd be willing to bet my left testicle that he's not appearing in this in any capacity (at least front of the screen).

What are they even on over at WB?
DiCaprio has money, fame and total freedom to choose what project he does. And he is picky, he doesn't work a whole lot. And he never expressed any desire in CBM.
I think I have a better shot of landing on top of Hugh Jackman than WB has of landing Dicaprio for this inevitable trashfire.

At this point, WB executives are more coked out than Tommy Singh.
Are they seriously expecting Leo DiCap to join this because Martin Scorsese is involved in this project?

Oh and on a side note.. did people not learn from Catwoman? I mean sure if this has a mastermind like Scorsese behind it but it still leaves a very bad feeling in my stomach.

Joaquin Phoenix in talks to star linkNot believing this until I see Joaquin on set tbh. I'm not one of those who autotrash every comic book movie and I won't start now. I'm a huge fan of Mr. Phoenix, so if he does it, I at least hope the film is great and he's great in it.

I mean, Joaquin would be an excellent Joker, but I don't really think I want to see him do a comic-book film. Not that I don't think that those can be great or worthy material, but I kinda like that Phoenix is much more offbeat and doing his own thing, rather than tackling the easy money-maker.
You know who'd be a worthy replacement? Jake the Snake. Ten years after his Brokeback buddy took the role and utterly crushed it in a way that no one will ever replicate, I'd be keen to see Gyllenhaal take a crack at it. Bring that Lou Bloom intensity and have a ball.

Would surprise if Phoenix did this. He's been pretty adamant that he doesn't have any interest in doing bigger budgeted films anymore. Maybe the script he actually really liked. Hmm!

I really hope Phoenix stays away from this shit. He's way too good for it. I guess he might be thinking of it as a way to get money so can continue making actual good stuff with small budgets?

I always thought he'd make an excellent Riddler but if Phoenix is up for this role as the Joker then so be it. He's easily one of the best actors working today

He’s one of the few I’d like to see in the role.

I mean The Killing Joke was pretty good stuff, so if they go with that then it can't be that bad...
