In eager anticipation of The Beguiled... I will list them alphabetically, since I'm not sure of her exact ranking. Breathless (Jean-Luc Godard) Chris Rock: Never Scared (Joel Gallen) The Heartbreak Kid (Elaine May) In the Mood for Love (Wong Kar-Wai) The Last Picture Show (Peter Bogdanovich) Let the Right One In (Tomas Alfredson) Lolita (Stanley Kubrick) Rumble Fish (Francis Ford Coppola) Sixteen Candles (John Hughes) Tootsie (Sydney Pollack) So, what do you think? My initial thought: Where is Picnic at Hanging Rock?! Source: Sofia Coppola's Favorite Films

Let the Right One In (Tomas Alfredson)
That's good enough for me.

That's... unique, for sure. I don't love any of them, but there are some cool choices. Super special to have her dad's movie on there, haha.

Yuck at Sixteen Candles, that film hasn't aged well at all: racist, sexist, unlikable heroine and the least charming, most boring male love interest ever.
We both have In the Mood for Love in our Top 10s though and I love her inclusions of The Last Picture Show, Let the Right One In, Lolita and Tootsie. Breathless is a good one too. So overall, I like the list a lot!

Love these picks. Sixteen Candles is one of my favorite films too (not in my top 10 though). And I truly believe that Let the Right One In is one of the very best films of the 21st century. It's amazing. Definitely my pick for best horror film of the 21st century. Based on her own work, I can totally see Sofia Coppola loving that film too.
