There were some scattered moments where I laughed out loud (the mock Tom Hardy Bane voice was pretty hilarious), but I felt like there were too few of them and it left me wishing for more intelligent jokes (the film is at its funniest early on). Basically, as a massive Batman fanatic, I didn't think it went far enough with spoofing the Batman mythos and it seemed like there were a lot of missed opportunities. I became rather bored with it by the end and the movie kind of wore out its welcome well before the credits. Also, there's something about extended action sequences choreographed with legos that isn't particularly compelling to watch.

I disagree, I thought it was hilarious from beginning to end, there were a lot of fun jokes and sight gags, and the inclusion of some of those non-Batman characters was great. Also LOVED Michael Cera's Robin. I thought he was adorable without ever getting too cloying or tiresome. I heard one other person say they didn't like it but their complaint was that it was too childish...like he was expecting something grim from The LEGO Batman Movie.

It was amusing, but not all that laugh-out-loud funny. It also had some pacing issues, but over all it was solid. The Lego Movie is much better.

They really could have slowed down with all the inside references (endearing as it is that they incorporated EVERY Batman universe in one way or another), and a lot of the jokes were way too easy, but I still got quite a bit of enjoyment out of it, and the voice cast is amazing. Billy Dee Williams playing Two-Face after all these years, even if it's just a couple of lines, is just . I laughed the hardest I have at a line in awhile at "Batman doesn't live in Bruce Wayne's basement, Bruce Wayne lives in Batman's attic."

I liked it, but it's obviously not as great as The Lego Movie (though I didn't expect it to be). It's fun, fast, and it did a great job taking the piss out of the Batman mythology and the modern dudebro idea of the character, but it has some structural issues (the first 5-10 minutes are by far the funniest) and its more narrow focus took away some of the creativity that made The Lego Movie so refreshing. Still, overall an enjoyable watch and seeing Alfred dress up as '66 Batman was awesome.

One thing I really appreciated was the lack of live-action scenes that really spoiled the original film for me. The only one I recall is that flashback to 60s Batman which was hilarious. It was definitely inferior to The Lego Movie overall and didn't get close to making me laugh as much, but it was amusing for the first hour, then starts to get a bit dull as the jokes wear thin and the sentimental stuff kicks in. I kept wondering when the story was gonna wrap up.
Robin was probably my favourite character (now there's a sentence I never thought I'd say).
