Anybody catch this on Netflix yet? I'm diggin the shit out of it. Brie and Maron are great but a lot of the supporting ladies are outstandingly funny and charming.

I'm planning to give this a look as it looks like a lot of fun, so it's nice to see some good word on it.

Twice in the first episode. They know how to hook an audience.

So is Maron actually a big part of it? Like his podcast a lot, never seen him act.

How similar tone-wise it is to Kenjis other show. It's not Jenji's show, but tonally it is very similar to Orange is the New Black.

Been binging it today. It's pretty good. Costume design is great and I'm liking the music choices. Maron is a lot of fun.

Finally watched this... pretty great stuff. Cast is amazing (didn't know Maron had it in him), tons of hilarious lines.... some great emotional moments (Carmen's father cheering her on at the match...), nice '80s soundtrack... My only problem was the totally random pregnancy and abortion. Really don't hope they drag that plotline into season 2. Overall, probably my second favorite Netflix show after Mindhunter.

Watched it right when it "aired" and haven't thought about much since, it's very enjoyable though. Loved the first few eps. That audition scene with Brie is hilarious but also sets up the themes, it's great. Brie and Gilpin are very good (already had a soft sport for Brie from Community)....but Maron's my fav. I thought after his ep on Easy (Netflix Chicago show) that he'd fit well in a Woody Allen pic or something like that. Viced Do you listen to his podcast? He had one with Jennifer Jason Leigh where he picks her brain and is all honest and earnest about trying to become a better actor. I dig the guy....and he looks and sounds exactly like one of my college professors. lol Having said that, his Netflix stand-up last year was meh-to-alright.

Mattsby I only listen to his podcast when there's someone I like on it. I actually still have the JJL one downloaded but haven't listened to it yet. Sounds great. I feel like a few of his interviews have been meh (Tommy Stinson) and sometimes the conversation is focused more on him than his guest which bothers me.

It was so-so. Marc Maron totally overshadowed Brie (It's honestly worth watching for him alone). Betty Gilpin was pretty terrific too, but most of the side characters and subplots were half-baked and forgettable. I'd give it a 7.5. Looking forward to the second season.

Anybody start S2 yet? I caught ep1 & 2.....
Good stuff. Sets up an interesting darker edge to the Maron character: his role as artist/director is undermined and in protecting it he becomes kinda vicious. There's that moment where he's lording in front of the live camera monitors and says to Brie that he could just cut her out. The question of "who's the boss here" (humorously in this low art form), trying to break outta the given exploitation, the pseudo-producer close-but-not-quite Gilpin character, etc, could be a great season if they keep playing with these ideas. Gilpin especially was great in S1 and great so far here......funny, I was thinking she should've been cast as Captain Marvel or something, and whaddya know the two creators of Glow are cowriters on Captain Marvel ~ !
(Points for Jesus & Mary Chain song at ep1 end.)

Finally watched season 2... just about as great as season 1 or maybe a little bit better. Does such a great job of juggling a large cast of characters... tons of great moments and I loved that it found room for two very well done unconventional(ish - for them at least) episodes with 4 & 8. The finale especially was 45 minutes of fantastic TV... and did an amazing job of shaking things up to set up the third season. But what was up with Bash's butler/bff/one true love... dying of AIDs? That was so out of the blue for me.

Sums up how I thought about the first season when I watched it last year. I do plan to give the second one a shot at some point though, since there's a lot to like about the series.

As I posted before, I liked S1, and kinda loved S2....... but 3 eps into S3 and... Everything feels awkward so far this season, constant trite developments to the point where I'm guessing everything right before it happens, and no damn wrestling! Maybe it'll pick up but I'm gonna take a lil breather before finishing. As for cast, S3's MVP could be Jackie Tohn...

First 3 episodes are indeed very clunky (and HORRIBLY edited... so many continuity errors)... but it gets better. Episodes 4 & 5 are great, and 9 & 10 almost as good. But it's still not nearly on the level of season 1/2. Doesn't do nearly as good a job of juggling all the characters (Russell is totally pointless, Sam is way too MIA as the season goes along) and a few too many lame/predictable plotlines... but the magic is still there in the episodes I mentioned. But it really needs to be renewed because the way it ended would be awful as a series finale. And Brie/Gilpin are undoubtedly the MVPs.

CanceledApparently this happened over a week ago and I missed it. So pissed. Season 3 was their best yet and one of the best comedy seasons of 2019. They only had one season left and they had already filmed an episode back in spring. Fuck Netflix.
