Ahhh....Keanu Reeves finally doing what I suggested a few years ago and working with some serious auteurs in between action flicks.
As soon as the right auteur utilises Reeves correctly, he'll be such a heavy favorite to win an Oscar going into an awards season, such is the industry and critical goodwill this man generates. If this is an ensemble part, then I guess he'd likely be up for supporting actor, which is even more winnable for him. Here's hoping it all comes together.

I kinda hope that Keanu is playing himself, stuck on this long flight, and the rest of the passengers try to get him to perform for them.

honestly the bigger Östlund goes the less he sticks the landing. The Square was too ambitious and spread thin and Triangle even moreso. In contrast Force Majeure hones in a single event and extrapolates the comedy from that one event. Square and Triangle are sprawling and messy takedowns, and this latest sounds even more sprawling.
happy for Reeves, but I want Ruben to go back to Sweden and make a chamber piece or something.

I like all of Östlund's films but he's delivered diminishing artistic rewards arguably and on paper this seems like a very odd mix - kinda goes together like pot roast and peanut butter tbh.......but hey, you never know ........

I mean this film is all set on a single flight, sound pretty 'chamber piece' to me.

As much as I adore Keanu to pieces and would be so all for it if something like this did indeed materialize, I'm afraid his will be more of a Sly Stallone than Brandon Fraser situation. I don't think he has every exhibited the kind of range needed to take an actor in such a position all the way - a "nomination be thy reward" trajectory would likely happen.

Sly lost in part due to a poor reputation for his ego back during his movie star years. If the industry thinks you're an asshole, they won't feel inclined to coronate you on the first nod (Bill Murray and Mickey Rourke apply here as well).

Sly's arrogance still doesn't solve Keanu's lack of range problem. Anyways, looking forward to this role.
