...how did it make you feel... and how did you survive it and heal - if you have.

Not really sure what this means since I am the worst thing that has ever happened to many, many people I told this story before but about 7 years ago - actually about the time that IMDB collapsed several, kind of unbelievable illnesses happened to my family - both immediate and extended - at the same time.......and I had to step in and not only deal with all that but also sort of take over finances about life circumstances for several people.......lots of legal stuff etc. Nothing usually fazes me - there's a big difference between "saying" you don't care and REALLY "not caring" - and trust me - I don't fucking care about almost anything - but that was some serious shit where I had to care - heck you didn't see me around for 4 months until that settled down mid-Jan-mid-May '17...... and that's how long it took that nightmare situation to settle down - 4 months of not only worrying about others health but worried that I might have messed up something financially FOR them - and this was a lot of family money and savings - and things like that - EVERY day.......everybody was depending on me........ Probably the only time in my life I would say I felt shaken.......or frazzled ........by the end of that four months I was worried about MY health ffs........actually I was almost afraid to say it even WAS over because I wasn't even sure that any day would look normal again ........

The few times I saw my parents gets violent with each other. Thankfully I don't think about it very much, and they're getting divorced now anyway, but it's still obviously a very fucked thing to see.

At first I thought about the death of beloved ones, but actually it's something that happened to them and I'd be self centered if I declared it as something happened to me.

Thankfully nothing truly horrible/tragic (yet), but I have been in some situations that are mortifying to think about because of how much worse they easily COULD have been. Like a few years ago when I was still teaching, it was the first day of the semester (so nerves probably played a part in it), I think I had eaten bad eggs that morning or something, and while in front of the class I could feel a, um, bathroom emergency coming on. The students probably noticed something was up because I was pacing around a lot. I could have excused myself, but it was almost the end of the class period, so I thought I could make it till the end. When the class ended, I was ready to dash out of there and head to the restroom, but a student intercepted me with a question. By that point, I was literally bouncing from one foot to the other, so I’m sure the student was like wtf. Finally, I was able to leave the classroom and enter the hallway, but then...... it happened. Praise the Lord that all the students had left by that point and no one else was in the immediate vicinity because the massive explosion that had just occurred in my pants was clearly visible through the fabric. Grabbing my ass in panic, I ran to the nearest restroom, praying that no one would see me. To my good fortune, the hallway remained empty and the restroom I found was for a single person and unoccupied. After cleaning myself up the best I could, I had to call my wife to bring me a new pair of pants. So yeah, that was the day I almost diarrhead myself in front of a class full of college students.
