He's sort of a far less witty, far less heroically likable Ray Davies.......as a satirist anyway......I like Blur, never cared for Gorillaz and think Elastica's debut is better than any Blur full-length. which must have been depressing for him especially the hit single about him not being able to get it up because he was stoned all the time on skag......and Oasis won that battle on their first two ........BUT Albarn writes great singles (Coffee and TV for one, The Universal for another)........and sometimes the fncker gets it so right you think you judged him too harshly....... ..........also the single most suprising junkie of all time.......he seems so ............ nice One of his "Oh fnck, maybe he's actually great" moments:

I'm a huge Blur fan (could add that to the "appreciation" thing as something else I like more than anyone else around here). Mainly for self titled and 13 which are both 5 star albums and maybe in the top ten rock albums ever for me. Think Tank and Magic Whip are good too and they were a good singles band in the Britpop days. First Good, the Bad, and the Queen album is good and his solo work is alright too. Gorillaz isn't really my thing but isn't "bad".

A few prime cuts, in addition to Pac's previously mentioned The Universal, Coffee and TV, and Popscene-
