Especially after that silly Rolling Stone list named it Robert Zemeckis worst film, appreciation is definitely merited. At this point, it feels like a classic. Just tell Jessica Chastain & Anne Hathaway to stay away from it. No one is checking their current movie. They are not the pairing to remake this I do think a remake now could work though.

Seriously, please no Jessica in this movie. You need someone good with comedic roles. She's too stiff.

It's almost to predictable casting at this point, but I think Margot Robbie and Emma Stone in a remake would be close to perfect casting. You'd need to age them up at times like in the original, but make-up could handle that.

Comedy is definitely something I'd like to see her do more of, but I think her performance in The Help showed that she does have comedic chops.

Bruce was younger than both of them.

Emma Stone as Helen makes sense even she's a bit too young, but Robbie doesn't really have the requisite campy bluster which Streep put on so hilariously. I think Chastain, even with relative inexperience in comedy, would be a more appropriate fit. I also like the idea of Rose Byrne as Helen.

I kinda thought camp bluster was pretty much Robbie's main thing as an actor. Harley Quinn and Barbie ( and to a slightly lesser extent her Tonya Harding in I, Tonya) and whatever she was doing in Babylon seem to fit into that school of arch performance. In my opinion anyway

One of my favorite comedies of the 90s. I don't care what the critics said. It's campy fun. Even down to the actors in smaller roles, I was dying. Isabella Rosselini: "Oh screw the natural law!" 😂 And Sydney Pollack is brilliant in his little cameo.

Why not Kate Hudson in her mother's role? (FYI, Goldie Hawn). She's 45 now.
