Maybe this sounds agist but usually will be easier to say The Great Helen Mirren... than the Great Zendeya for example. There's something that comes with age and accomplishments than convinces one more easily that the said person is great (feel free to answer Z btw, it was the first name that popped into my mind)...

Actor - Ryan Gosling (though I conferred greatness on him in 2007, I just haven't seen an undeniable generational talent sprout since, despite my appreciation for Chalamet, Powell, Butler, Harrison Jr. etc.).
Actress - Florence Pugh. Jenna Ortega is very talented, but I need to see her in more contexts to be sure.

Leo or Luca Marinelli
Jennifer Lawrence or Emma Stone

Jennifer Lawrence is America's girl. Maybe not at the level of Caitlin Clark and Taylor Swift, who can drive up ratings and make an ordinary low effort/mediocre product suddenly something people watch. Tho it remains to be seen on Fever ratings.
But that she can make Winter's Bone (really good movie, not a masterpiece), The Hunger Games (mediocre), Silver Linings Playbook (decent) still movies people are somewhat interested in kinda proves it.

Kaluuya & Stone - in English I think I can call a kind of great right now - although Kaluuya isn't great in his BA nominated role (Get Out).........possibly Lawrence - though she's limited imo in what she can do but she's a natural too........she's great in a way though.......her generation's Debra Winger The qualifier is "how great" .......that word is not an equivalent ........there's levels to this stuff

J Law is closer to Reese Witherspoon and Maggie Smith combo than Debra Winger.
Winger is mostly a kinda sad mopey actress, elicit tears, i.e. Hallmark. She is fantastic, and maybe in terms of training methods they're similar. But J Law is a comedian and a sort of a solitary presence. That resembles more Witherspoon and Roberts than Winger.

I meant Winger more in that Winger also lacked formal training - she was a natural and in Winger's case when she had to lay roles outside herself for a time she suffered - Lawrence in Red Sparrow is an example of that where that I'm sure was harder for her than it might have been for a trained actress........the huge advantage JLaw has of course is to handle her career in a different way........and that comedy thing is, I think, her secret weapon......... Partcularly screwball comedy.......she could literally make screwball comedies come back into style tbh ......

The great Emma Stone, people already refer to her like that in common parlance. Or maybe that's just me... Men take longer to get that amount of respect so it's either DiCaprio or Phoenix, too lazy to google who's the younger of the two. Also, who the heck is Kaitlin Clark?

Caitlin Clark is the Emma Stone of Sports but weirdly somehow even more pale .........frankly, this board will be exclusively a Caitlan Clark board within 6 months unless the moderators do something drastic about "the pacinoyes problem" ..........

Caitlin Clark is the Saoirse Ronan of women's basketball because neither of them won the Oscar/championship but they're still better than everyone else

More like the Tyler Perry of sports since hardly anyone outside of the US has heard of her.
Wait, is 6-5 the current score? Why is she taking a shot from way out there? No wonder she never won anything, guess decision making isn't her strong suit?

Jennifer Lawrence and Saoirse Ronan.
Florence Pugh may get that epithet in two or three years.
For men, for whatever senseless reason, it takes way longer, too much longer.
I think DiCaprio and Phoenix are the youngest who reached that title, not yet Ryan Gosling, or Adam Driver.

Two Japanese actors, who have given great performances in multiple films, Shota Sometani (Himizu, First Love, That's It, And Your Bird Can Sing) and Suzu Hirose (Rage, Wandering, the Chihayafuru trilogy).
