Best moments? what will be his legacy? Do you agree with his reputation as one of the best actors without a single Oscar nom?

Terrific actor, impressively versatile, makes my line-ups for "Stir of Echoes", "The Woodsman", "Sleepers" and "Murder in the First" but no matter what he does, he's always up to the task. He can be funny too (Beauty Shop) and even in stacked ensemble casts, he finds a way to stand out (JFK, A Few Good Men). Him not being nominated probably has to do with the fact when he had the buzz, the films were underseen. When his films were BP-material, his role was not the main push. Recently, I don't think he gets many roles worthy of his talents but since he's steadily working, I'm hoping he'll get the nom or win one day. I also hope he'll stay away from basic television shows and focus on his film career more.

It's really unfortunate how often his career has been defined by "always the groomsman never the bride", because he's a terrific actor in general. One of his performances I've always thought was under appreciated was Sebastian Stan in First Class. In general, he's pretty great as a villain.

One thing that might've worked "against him" in a way is that he seems and sounds kinda same-ish in his best films (where he's usually supporting performer no.2)... I don't see a vast difference between what he's doing in A Few Good Men and Frost/Nixon for example... always nice to see him there though. He's like an agent of 90s-00s (my childhood era).
