Still to my mind, the best actor ( abiity-wise) to play James Bond.

It's not really a fair comparison, but yes, I would agree. The Living Daylights remains a unique wonder in the Bond canon. Very happy birthday to another legend with an absolutely epic voice. Looking forward to seeing more of him in 1923, and if Mr. Pricklepants is his last movie role, it will have been a worthy one.

Where's this guy's knighthood anyway? As a former British Bond actor, who has also had a notable stage and screen career away from Bond, I figured he'd be due to be offered one right about now, on the eve of his 80th birthday.

We don't talk Bond on here much but he's my second favorite besides Connery and if he'd gotten a full run he might have ended up at no. 1. Love The Living Daylights as well. If you were going to ask me to describe my ideal Bond I might very well end up describing him, I like the moodier, more introverted, maybe Bruce Wayne like take on the role.
His Wuthering Heights adaptation, while still not perfect, is also probably my favorite one.
