Fun question, pac! Tony Leung and Charlotte Rampling are my answers, and they haven't starred together as far as I'm aware? But oh, what a cinematic treat that would be!

Bobby D and Binoche almost worked together in The Son of No One, but Pacino replaced De Niro soon after production began iirc.

Gimme Barry Keoghan and Saoirse Ronan in something Roman. I’ve said before that I’d like to see Saoirse play Empress Theodora but idk if I can see Barry as her Justinian. I’m sure he could pull it off tho. Naturally he would be best suited to play a mad emperor which we sadly have just missed out on

Yes. Three times and they got nominated for all three films. He won once, she didn't.
Any guesses?

I really wouldn't mind a charming romantic movie between the kooky Einstein ( Pacino) and the covert Margarita Konenkova ( Huppert) who may or may not've been a spy inveigling him. Or was it just good ole love? You can structure it similar to the Phil Spector movie and intensify it, or pare it down into something weirdly funny and quite sweet. They have been developing this project for Pacino.... Barry Levinson most recently involved.... and after Oppenheimer a boost of interest for financiers to bite? Let's go! Would also love a B&W sort-of-Gothic homestead horror starring Pacino/Huppert..... with a Park Chan wook punch up or eerier Bennett Miller? Chastain often mentions the two as her fav actor/actress I wonder if she'll ever produce something for them.

Tony Leung and Charlotte Rampling My second choices would be Alain Delon and Julianne Moore, but... I really doubt she wants to work with him... You know he would try to put the moves on her.

Tony Leung and Julianne Moore too tho I love Tony Leung - the highest ranking "younger" actor in this poll that was posted earlier from Cinrema Archives - quire a statement.........iconic......I remember when I saw how high he was and I was like........that kind of makes sense - like he encourages that kind of devtion.....his filmography is great etc........... 1 -De Niro 2 -Stewart 3 -Brando 4 -Mifune 5 -Pacino 6 -Nicholson 7 -DDL B -Bogart 9 -Grant 10-Chaplin 11-Mastroianni 12-Leung 13-Wayne 14-Fonda 15-Pitt 16-DiCaprio 17-Newman 18-Hackman 19-Eastwood 20-Dustin Hoffman

pacinoyes - Tony Leung and Julianne Moore would indeed be cinematic dynamite. I'm surprised Delon and Rampling never worked together!

This made me realise that almost all my favourite male actors are long dead.
I guess Jeff Bridges is a fave of mine and no he has never worked with Sissy Spacek, which is somewhat surprising as they share very similar sensitivities in their style of acting and are from the same generation. Both are extremely naturalistic, unselfish, down-to-earth performers but can also do high-brow/genre effortlessly, and both had their break-out in the 70s and were some of the most in demand actors in the 80s. I would love to see them do something together soon.
Another fave of mine would be Anthony Hopkins and surprisingly, he has never worked with Maggie Smith, which is surprising for the similar reasons I just mentioned above. Both are titans in theatre heavily influenced by Laurence Olivier (maybe they used to work together in theatre back then?), had their break-out in cinema in the 60s, both went on to play some of the most iconic and popular characters on screen, both work a lot on tv, both won 2 Oscars out of 6 nominations, but somehow never worked together. It's fascinating.
