This was a descriptor I previously would have reserved only for Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette, but... these are the only words that seem appropriate to describe Trần Anh Hùng's The Taste of Things. Please do share some of your choices!

I reviewed this film, and talked about it several times - a link below....nobody from MAR has seen it afaik....shame that........but that's ok, you can keep watching Beau Is Afraid and talking about the acting of Wood Harris and other such bullshit - no, really.......don't listen to the old sarcastic dude .........he's probably just "crazy" The Edge df Daybreak (2021) - I still don't know how GOOD it is.....but it's overwheming visually at leastmovie-awards-redux.freeforums.net/post/406936

Almost a third into the new year and I've already spoiled myself... When watching Black Narcissus I kept asking myself "am I really seeing what I'm seeing? are these images really unfolding in front of my eyes?"... And with A Matter of Life and Death I was like JAMES CAMERON CAN SUCK IT. But I have to give it to David Lean, ultimately... I don't know when I'm going to see something as majestic as Ryan's Daughter. Beaches, sunlight, the sky... all of them are captured as if "re-created" on his canvas and I was taking them in for the first time...

Enter the Void. Basically all Wong Kar Wai's movies. Certainly from Days of Being Wild to 2046.

With "delirious" being the operative word, the two 1977 horror phantasmagorias come to mind:

I rewatched it last year, and god, I love the colors so much. I want to cry thinking about it

Oh honey's Sakuran (2006) is another of my visual favorites... but more garishly beautiful than delirious.
