NOMINEES
Golda - Karen Hartley Thomas, Suzi Battersby and Ashra Kelly-Blue Maestro - Kazu Hiro, Kay Georgiou and Lori McCoy-Bell Oppenheimer - Luisa Abel Poor Things - Nadia Stacey, Mark Coulier and Josh Weston Society of the Snow - Ana López-Puigcerver, David Martí and Montse Ribé
Only Maestro and Poor Things won any precursors for M&H category. Maestro won the MUAH, Poor Things took the BAFTA. It's basically a battle between Willem Dafoe's face and Cooper's face.
It took 6 hours to put on Dafoe's makeup. For Maestro, it took 2 hours for younger Bernstein and 5 hours for old man Bernstein.

Maestro hasn't generated enough passion in the main categories but I think its makeup achievement has been a big enough deal this season to take this. I think it also helps that it's present throughout the entire film, while in Poor Things the showy stuff is essentially all about Dafoe who is a supporting character (albeit a prominent one).

I’m not betting against Kazu Hiro at this point. Maestro it is.

If there's any justice in the world, Society of the Snow should take it. But since there isn't, LMAOstro is most likely winning.

I agree. Plus, Netflix has won at least one Oscar since 2018.

I would say Maestro has the slight advantage here (as it is the one that's gotten the most press, it's a real person, and the Academy loves old-age makeup), but we've been so focused on the actor-makeup correlation so much with Cooper that we've been overlooking that it could easily apply to Stone if she wins.

I’m sorry but it’s a fucking hate crime if Bradley Cooper’s nose wins a fucking Oscar

Probably because it looks like it's gonna melt off of Cooper's face when he sweats.
