www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/gone-but-not-forgotten-gone-with-the-wind-is-still-americas-favorite-movie-300010911.html2008 1. Gone With the Wind 2. Star Wars 3. Casablanca 4. Lord of the Rings 5. The Sound of Music 6. The Wizard of Oz 7. The Notebook 8. Forrest Gump 9. The Godfather 9. The Princess Bride 2014 1. Gone With the Wind 2. Star Wars 3. Titanic 4. The Godfather 5. Lord of the Rings 6. The Sound of Music 7. Dirty Dancing 8. The Wizard of Oz 9. It's a Wonderful Life 10. E.T. Thoughts? Yeah.... I don't think The Notebook would be Top 10 but maybe they targeted young women a lot. Although I don't think old people would find The Notebook unwatchable either. It's a pretty entertaining movie for all female age groups. I think this list is mostly pretty accurate. I myself at least like nearly all of these. Only one I don't care for entirely is E.T. I'm not wild about The Sound of Music, but I think the Nazi invasion and them running out the mansion when they invaded was kinda entertaining.

THe Sound of Music in a lot of ways is the most beloved film of all time: First of all - every generation loves it, kids, grandparents, black, white, gay, straight, nuns (um)....the film now seems weirdly modern, like an extended cut of music videos....music is a commonality language...little kids learn to talk through those songs...the movie predates list culture ffs! (My Favorite Things!)....also, the most harmless Nazis ever......the movie can never be "outdated" because its corny aspect is essential to watching it...........ever go to a theater showing it nowadays? The crowd goes insaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane............
