With 2024 looking like a pretty big year for her, and Zendaya being some sort of all of a sudden fashion shock jock..... this needs a thread.

She needs to get some high profile film gigs. She has alot of juice right now and should be hopping from auteur to auteur like Pugh.

I truly believe Zendaya, besides J Law, is the most popular and most well liked actress under 45.
Let's just go thru the list....
Kristen Stewart - A one franchise/movie actress. When you namedrop her, most certainly an average person automatically gets Twilight in their head. The rest of her movies are irrelevant to most people.
Emma Watson - Again, the Harry Potter girl. She'll never be forgotten but I don't think she'll elevate to iconic just by being in one franchise that people care about. Same reason Tobey Maguire or Elijah Wood are not iconic. Watson is more popular than those - don't get me wrong - as she actally has a pretty large fanbase. But just a one-movie/franchise kinda actress, I don't think she can compete with Zendaya in the long run.
ScarJo - Yeah, she's seen a lot and people know her face because of MCU - but I think Zendaya has a larger contingent of people caring about her. MCU gets you seen, but not necessarily liked.... in the same way Brie Larson and Elizabeth Olsen aren't tip of the tongue names. Lost in Translation unfortunately was 20 years ago and even if filmastes like it, not enough average people has seen it. Some have seen it, and have a vague idea of it being a great movie, but not compared to the people who has seen Dune and Euphoria. There is a huge difference between being seen a lot vs being seen and liked a lot.
Emily Blunt - Based on her long 20 year strong run.... I think she's definitely one of the most seen faces. She also works within a genre that gets shown on TV a lot... romantic comedy. But again, don't think her movies are HUGE movies. Not like Euphoria, or Dune: Part 2 - movies that by themselves elevate you several leagues up.
Any thoughts? She is becoming a behemoth.

And I don't see any reason yet to think Zendaya has leapfrogged Johansson who has been established for 2 decades worth of films that have been seen and liked. Zendaya has yet to be the face of a successful movie - Challengers will be a test of that.

I guess if my goal were to make Zendaya look good I'd also leave out the two biggest female stars under 40 and include names who aren't even relevant any more like Watson instead.

I find her (and her boyfriend) annoying. It's really a sad state of affairs when they're considered the contemporary It Couple of Hollywood. Brangelina wept.

As much as I was consumed by Brangelina (nothing after compares), Tom/Zendaya are so innocuous and cute - what’s there to find annoying? They are no Brangelina, but they’re not really trying to be, their brand is more Gen Z/relatable/transparent.

They were truly unbearable as a couple. Some of their fan-ATICS were equally obnoxious .Kind of sucks for their kids that their divorce is such a mess, though.

I hated Brangelina even more and laughed when they split lol. Cheaters deserved their marriage going up in flames, and Brad Pitt is an abusive cunt.

I guess they were my go-to example of a megawatt Hollywood power couple, but I don't disagree that they were gross for the infidelity and that Pitt is most likely a steaming piece of shit. All that being said, even just on the talent front, they still absolutely cleeeeear TH+Z.

I don't know anything about this "power couple" thing or who that man is who is her boyfriend. I don't pay attention to that stuff. But as far as her as an actress, Euphoria showed me something. I made a thread raving about her performance in one of those episodes. Also there is an extra episode where it's just her and (one of the latest breakout stars) Colman Domingo having pancakes the entire time and talking (clip posted below). Terrific stuff. The rest of the series could never.
I just realized that I haven't seen her in a single movie because checking her filmography, she doesn't make the kind of movies I watch. *shrug* So the only thing I know about her is that HBO show that I was too old to watch but did anyway because I love drug stories, so her storyline was interesting to me.

Zendaya has a really good stylist. I was looking through those pictures and wow at Naomi and Iman. Naomi really was that girl. Also was that the JLo dress Donatella's wearing???

Some of these gowns look like torn bedsheets, and by some I mean Anne Hathaway's look.

Watching the trailer for this movie.... I'm thinking.... maybe guys wanna see this movie because in their mind they're trying to validate their ideal scenario.
What if Zendaya chose me over the other guy (the one to her left?) Would be really flattering, and validating.

She's engaged to Spiderman. And I still have no clue who he is. I've only seen one Spiderman actor (yes, Tobey). 😂
