Also, unless I'm misremembering, I though Swann's performance was pretty understated and low-key.

just when you thought France's decision to not submit Anatomy of a Fall couldn't look any more awkward.

Milo Machado Graner was nominated for the Cesar but for Best New Actor and he did not win. At least Sandra Hüller mentioned him in her speech (or so it seems to me) Curious how little Milo Machado Graner received awards this season.

I'm pleased Adele Exarchopoulos is still doing big things in France and winning acting awards at this level. Feels like she got the short end of the stick compared to her Blue Is The Warmest Colour co-star Lea Seydoux, who got most of the international/Hollywood opportunities off the back of that film.
Maybe Seydoux was more comfortable acting in English (though I know Adele speaks English well enough to act in it) or she just had a better agent, but I always thought Adele deserved more opportunities in international/Hollywood productions as well. Good news is she's only 30 and still going strong in France, so she has plenty of time to go into more English speaking or Hollywood productions if she has any ambitions to do so.
Incidentally, Exarchopoulos is now a 2 time Ceasar winning actress, and while Seydoux had one more nomination than Adele ( 5 to Adele's 4), she is still waiting for her first Ceasar win.

Seydoux was already starting to get Hollywood opportunities before and around the time of Blue is the Warmest Colour. She was in small parts in Inglourious Basterds, Robin Hood, Midnight in Paris, a more substantial villainous role in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, and had already filmed a minor part in The Grand Budapest Hotel. I'm sure Blue is the Warmest Colour was a substantial boost for her in Hollywood and likely key to her getting in Bond, but she was already making Hollywood connections with A-list talents.

Fair enough. Seydoux likely just had a better agent that was already pushing her towards Hollywood. Still Blue Is The Warmest Colour really did alter her profile significantly, and as you said, likely led to her getting Bond. I still believe Exarchopoulos was in a position to get really big Hollywood opportunities off the back of the huge wave of international attention and acclaim of Blue Is The Warmest Colour, but it never really happened. I'm almost surprised she wasn't tapped to be a Bond girl either, but they could only go with one of the ladies from that film, and Seydoux was the older and more experienced actor and had already worked on Hollywood sets. Age-wise, Seydoux was a better fit to be cast opposite Daniel Craig's Bond. Adele was only 22 when Spectre was cast, while Seydoux was 29 or 30 I think.

Ahhh....so Seydoux's career advantage over Exarchopoulos makes perfect sense now. How She was in a position to get those early international/Hollywood breaks in the first place. Seydoux is essentially a Nepo Baby. She was born into the film industry. Her family is very influential and powerful in the movie industry in France/Europe. Her grandfather of the chairman of Pathe. Her granduncle is chairman of the Gaumont film company.

Obviously, I haven't been paying attention.
