Why isn't Zendaya working more frequently?

She's the lead and executive producer on a whole TV show ( Euphoria). For most people, that's a lot of work during a year. Plus, most of the industry wasn't working last year because of the strikes.

Not everyone has that Nicole Kidman workhorse mentality, where they can somehow manage to produce and star in 50 TV shows and movies a year. What Kidman manages to do and sustain at a high level is very unusual. Zendaya is typically the norm when you are a someone committed to a TV show, but also have higher ambitions in film. You fit in one or two film projects a year around the TV series. Zendaya has a normal working schedule.

She has film projects in development which she will produce and star in. A biopic of Ronnie Spector called Bye Bye Baby. And A White Lie, which she is co-producing with Reese Witherspoon. As far as upcoming projects go, she's not short of them. 

Probably one of the most frequent working actresses in Hollywood. Euphoria and Dune are just long projects to do with frequent schedule delays. Challengers is probably a breeze compared to those.

Maybe because she doesn't want to? She has both work and money enough
