Another day, another upcoming Pacino project! Directed by someone called David Midell, who has made two indie feature films before this ( Nightlights and The Killing Of Kenneth Chamberlain).
This one got a waiver to shoot during the SAG strike in October, so it should be in post-production and may be out later this year.
It's based on the true story of Emma Schmidt who underwent an exorcism in a secluded convent. Pacino is believed to be playing a priest. So shades of The Pope's Exorcist with Russell Crowe maybe?
Ben Foster is also supposed to be in this. Very fine actor

Ths movie is done shooting btw - this is also in the Al Pacino News thread with all these movies in the Pacino Derangement Syndrome posts the last couple of days (Nervous Breakdown #3 for him? 2008, 2017, 2024? Hmmm)
- this comment below is from that thread .........it's a real left field one because afaik this doesn't have an IMDB page - and we don't know if Foster stayed on it even.......
The direcor of this movie - David Midell - has 2 films (only) that I never heard of that have really good ratings NightLights and The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain.......unlike what you'd expect....or I would expect anyway.......they sound good.......really?

I don't know what you're so upset about . I'm just posting news threads about these upcoming Pacino projects, most of which I didn't even know existed till this week (sorry, I genuinely don't go on the Pacino News Thread much). I thought you'd be happy for these films to have their own news threads. I'd have honestly expected you or one of the other big Pacino fans here to have started them up already when they were announced ( still feels like a mystery to me why not). Like me, most people here probably don't go on the Pacino News thread much, so didn't know Pacino had so much going on. Now more people get to stay informed about these projects. Now that I know they exist, of course I'm interested in them and how they turn out. He's one of our greatest living actors. We don't just have to hear about his projects when it's with the likes of Martin Scorsese or Ridley Scott. Good to see him out there working.

Yeah, it's all too easy to criticise the choice of projects and filmmakers other actors work with, but when even Al Pacino is regularly working with first-time directors or relative nobodies, it kind of makes all this carping about having to work with nothing but the best auteurs all the time seem a bit silly.
Pacino likes to work. He doesn't want to sit around waiting for the top shelf auteurs like PTA or Spike Lee to give him a call. Sometimes he'll settle for the less known directors, or the inexperienced/first time feature directors just to stay busy.

Yeah, it's all too easy to criticise the choice of projects and filmmakers other actors work with I guess to those people ^ it's more amatter of degree - for example Al Pacino has been in 7 movies with 7 or more Oscar nominations - all including Best Picture - some actors - have never been in ONE film with 7 nominations including BP......... To those actors who've NEVER done it.........I just say ......good luck to you.......but right now - they ain't him.........capische paisan? Here's a story about the old bastard eating chocolate cake like a fat-ass (speaking of Russell Crowe) and the note he sent the baker for making him a 83 year old fat ass GOAT www.newsbreak.com/natchez-ms/3331521699176-best-wishes-al-pacino-makes-special-delivery-to-wishes-bakery

Unlike you on most Denzel project threads, I'm not here to shit on Pacino to deliberately make the thread an uninhabitable warzone. I'm just interested in updates or news about the film.

Again, what part of I'm not trying to fight you here are you not getting This is your GOAT's movie thread. You of all people should most want to respect the space for people to be comfortable here. I got respect for Pacino. I'm out here trying to keep it peaceful and serene, for people to enjoy. It's all peace and love with me on these Pacino project threads baby. I'd assume that's what you want, yes.
