Sorry to bring up your defenses, but I don't think it's much of a stretch to think someone's mad at a movie when they're bringing it up unprompted in threads that have nothing to do with them. I think hes just saying why is nobody talking about this best of the year contender while they seem pretty interested in a bad movie that has Sydney Sweeney in various forms of scarce clothing.Ngl............If only this was true I would have seen it twice

Disregarding the politics thing (that literally has no influence on my disinterest in this?), but I have no idea what Immaculate has to do with it. Hell, I didn’t know it existed.

"Disregarding the politics thing" There was no politics thing at all - politics was mentioned as an argumentative technique example not either film?
"but I have no idea what Immaculate has to do with it. Hell, I didn’t know it existed." Then my post didn't apply to you - but if you see it, you could draw a comparison on what drives you to - or away from a film............my post applied to people who have seen Immaculate and WON'T see Late Night With The Devil

Honestly, I think it would've been a much better film if it had taken literally a dozen different options other than the route one choice of "Regan MacNeil 2.0 goes on Letterman." If it had turned out that the demon was actually the James Randi surrogate, or the sleazy producer, or Cleo the musician they kept bumping at the end, or Barry in the audience, or even if it had been multiple demons at once fighting for airtime... all of that would've been more interesting than what we got, which was still a fun ride but one where I knew where all the beats would land well ahead of time.
Dastmalchian's great and I thought Ian Bliss was a really good foil, but this did feel like a bit of a missed opportunity at times.

Not as much fun as in the theater - with a good crowd - but for the weirdo types who didn't want to give it cash since it used (very) minor AI......it's Shudder debut starts tomorrow......also though........I should say that imo it gets better on rewatches and I've seen a year apart ffs - 2023 & 2024 The only thing so far worth seeing so far in Englisg language cinema in 2024 afaik ..........

the ratio of AI-work to human work is so astronomically small it blows my mind. (why has this become such a controversy again?) missed it in theaters but I can't wait to see it. All the marketing has been exquisite and I love the found footage by way of cursed TV program concept. Sounds inspired by Ghostwatch (can you confirm pac?) which is a horror masterpiece. And I'm personally ready for more traditional found footage to make a comeback too. It wasn't ALL Paranormal Activity (just saying)

It wasn't ALL Paranormal Activity (just saying) VERY much so ^.......although the found footage can be picked apart here as it often can be - you kind of have to go with it..and how flawlessly it is incorporated (and it is not in any way flawless ) I mentioned this earlier but I am now a sucker for movies which place me in the audience of a TV show (or lecture, whatever) - Christine, Tar, History of the Occult, Late Night With The Devil where I am being as manipulated as the "movie" audience in the film........ The movie also uses another thing that has come up in recent horror that I love - the "insert" shot where you are not quite sure you saw what you think you saw ...........which came up in 2 recent faves of mine - Censor and Saint MaudHope you like it

My gf was watching this - yet again - and I just want to say I love the little things this movie gets right like actually keeping the name of the secret society as "The Grove" (the real name of the 70s club) and referencing Johnny Carson by name and how "Abracadabra" is an invoking based on the demon Abraxas
Little cool stuff in it like that.....that help it ring true I think

Damalamadingdong sold the hell out of the part. Also, since Douriff announced his retirement all I wanted was him as either the skeptic or the manager.
