This may be a weird question to ask, but I don't have many other avenues and I'm checking them all... On monday night, I was hospitalized as I vomited LARGE amounts of blood (bright red stuff, an endless fountain of it). The doctor gave me nausea medicine and told me to hydrate - she didn't even list the blood vomiting in her report. Frankly, I've felt sicker and I was never in much pain, but the crazy high amount of blood worries me. How worried should I be about this?
The cause was likely food poisoning - my mother ate at the same restaurant with me on sunday night and we went to the hospital together with similar symptoms (she didn't have so much blood, but was in a lot of pain) - so there is very little chance of this being more than a one-time thing.

Do you have a regular doctor for physicals and whatnot? I think you probably have nothing to be worried about but if you’re concerned I’d advise to set up a regular checkup and just bring it up there.

Do you suffer from gastritis or something? Avoid anti-inflammatory medicines or aspirin in these days, they irritate the stomach and may cause hemorrhage.

The fact that your Mom had the same symptoms makes me a little less concerned, vomiting blood is never a good sign. But it does sound like a one off thing due to food poisoning. That's still a really extreme reaction though.Wtf did you eat?.

Hot pot, cooked at the table. Some sushi too. So... exactly the kind of thing one would expect to get food poisoning from Worst hot pot place ever, even before I got sick. Totally bland and tasteless. I love hot pot, but this was little more than dishwater.

What did you eat? Check out the yelp reviews for that restaurant. Maybe drink some probiotic too (not FDA approved advice). Also, are there any current symptoms or do you feel back to normal?
