Since 2000, all of the Adapted Screenplay winners were nominated for Best Screenplay at the Oscars, except for The Last King of Scotland in 2007. Sideways won Best Adapted Screenplay at the BAFTAs, despite only one nomination. Only two of these winners won adapted screenplay without a Best Film or acting nomination -- Sideways and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.
If we look at the precursor awards, American Fiction (solo nominee) took home Critics Choice, All of Us Strangers LA Film Critics, and Poor Things NBR.
In 6 of the last 8 years, the BAFTA Best Adapted Screenplay winner has gone on to win the Oscar.
