I'm really happy for Lily Gladstone and Jeffrey Wright!

Also... Annette Bening. You passed her over for 20th Century Women, The Seagull, and Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool... to nominate her for this shit? But... have you seen it? Is she bad in it? Or it's just the movie that is bad?

Greta Lee missing stings, even if the writing was on the wall. But there is some solace in Robbie missing, too, since it was looking like the last spot would be going to her instead (undeservedly, IMO).

with which i agree 100% and Bening is pretty hammy in it.

* Really sad about huge star in the African American community (um,, is she though? ) Taraji P.Henson who has to deal with only having 12 Million and now she suffers the indignity of being a PoC being under-represented by The White Devil in America - how long do these millionairesses need to suffer! ...... Nah, just kidding ^ : * Glad Frances Fisher failed with her Origin witchcraft - I didn't see Origin but Riseborough was a once in a lifetime kind of thing - and a genuinely amazing peformance ....... * Glad Saltburn missed ......it's just a pretend movie, escalating oddness masquerading as drama.......I said this before Rose Glass may surpass Fennell as a director .......I mean not just for me, I mean that in general * Glad Past Lives is in Picture just because it deserves it - still my number 1 ftw That's all I got..... You're so on the money about Saltburn. It really put me off watching Promising Young Woman as well. Also I've lived close enough to Prescott and Barry's accent is piss poor.

I love diversity and don’t hate women so I’m ecstatic about America. Upset with anything Maestro related.

Or it's just the movie that is bad? Yes, I have seen it. And I would say both she and the movie are bad. To be fair, I don't like Foster's nomination either, but Bening's performance is so oddly high-pitched that Foster's more grounded realism seems like a balm in comparison.

excluding the VERY cool noms we all took for granted, like Cillian Murphy, Lily Gladstone, Sandra Hüller, Jennifer Lame, etc. I knew those were coming but hopefully we get to take stock in the coming days and weeks how freaking cool it is that those people are getting honored for their incredible work. that said, HAPPY: - Triet for directing - Lachman! - The Creator for sound - Napoleon for VFX - Bobi Wine: The People's President - May December for screenplay - JANTY YATES and I haven't seen Zone of Interest yet but I love that Glazer is now an Oscar nominee. Major kudos to him (and hopefully we don't have to wait 10 more years for another movie) UNHAPPY - Benening's Foster - Ferrera - Maestro in screenplay reeks of laziness - John Williams nom is even lazier

Happy for: -Cillian Murphy & Ryan Gosling - though not surprising, both have been some of my favorite current actors since the mid '00s, so it's nice to see them get recognized. -Godzilla, of course -Oppenheimer love -Wahzhazhe (A Song For My People) getting into Song -Society of the Snow getting into Makeup Bummed about: -Joe Hisashi snub -No Ferrari in Sound (I liked it ) -Robbie missing Actress

ingmarhepburn - No, I usually love her! And I was excited to see this film. But it just wasn't good. There are no two ways about it.

Or it's just the movie that is bad? No one has seen it because it's not a real movie. Its existence is like when Dawn shows up in season 5 of Buffy and everyone's memories are implanted to think she's always been there.

Happy May/December getting something, but I wish it nabbed something for Portman Huller Foster for Nyad. Loved her in it. Blunt for Oppenheimer. Her and Murphy would be my only nods.
Upset Ferrera - this is as annoying as all the coattail noms from EEAO. She was one of the worst parts of the movie lol. RDJ. Everything relating to American Fiction. Especially Wright and BP. And score? I don’t get it

I am going to be Mr. Positive here. Bravo Academy. You did a wonderful job.
My favorite things:
1. Happy to see my pre-season picks all got nominated for Best Picture. 2. Best Actor line-up. Fantastic. Great to see Domingo and Wright getting their first nomination. 3. Yes, for The Stones and the NYAD women. 4. Yes for Sterling K. Brown. 5. Very happy for St. Christopher and St. Martin for getting nominated for Best Picture and Best Director. 6. Yes for Maestro. Cooper got three nominations. 7. The Mission Impossible curse is finally over. Two nominations for Sound and Visual Effects. 8. Yes for "What Was I Made For" 9. A unique nomination for Best Original Song:
Disappointment:
Where is Air?
I hope this guy is okay. He didn't get his name called.
