So basically, what is a movie that is flawless save for one tiny, fixable detail?
My first thought here is The Wolf of Wall Street, which I think is almost a perfect film save for one thing: I feel that Matthew McConaughey's Mark Hanna needed one more scene later on in the movie, to see the monster he created. I feel like Hanna's spirit looms over the movie long after McConaughey's gone (and of course his improvised chest-beat becomes the mantra of the film and returns twice, once at the second act peak and then again at the end titles). I'm not saying that Hanna needed to be horrified at all by Belfort's exponentially more decadent excesses, but I thought it would've made for a fun little dichotomy against Rob Reiner's character to have Jordan's real father be the struggling voice of reason, while his surrogate father applauds him for furthering the "lineage."
Basically, just add one more brief stinger to McConaughey's character and the movie becomes pitch-perfect to me.

Man, that stupid-ass scene at the end of Psycho. I still love that scene if only because of that sheriff who tries to show how knowledgeable he is by saying "he's a transvestite," only to get bitch-slapped by the psychiatrist.

Heat may be the best crime film of the 90s and that decade included Pulp Fiction, Fargo, Goodfellas ffs but the body double who jumps Henry Rollins is very obviously not Al Pacino.......wtf Michael Mann....... Similarly Sonny Corleone's missed punch in The Godather........that's one of the reasns that THe Irishman like Heat and The Godfather still rules........it's just a movie.......pffft

- Tell Costner to act better in his early scenes in JFK.
- Remove John Michael Higgins (and his bit) in Licorice Pizza.
- Remove the dog scenes, and cut down those extra bits in scenes that repeat things already realized earlier in the scene in Amadeus....oh wait.

- The sex in A Special Day is unnecessary.
- The ending of All Quiet on the Western Front (2023) is a tad overkill.
- The heart attack in Boiling Point is unnecessary.
- The wedding sequence is way too long in The Deer Hunter.
- James Dean could have toned down his drunk overacting in Giant.

It really annoys me that we don't hear the phone conversation at the end of Marty. Betsy Blair doesn't get to finish her arc and it feels like an abrupt TV ending because they ran out of time. Man, that stupid-ass scene at the end of Psycho. I still love that scene if only because of that sheriff who tries to show how knowledgeable he is by saying "he's a transvestite," only to get bitch-slapped by the psychiatrist. The deadpan way he blurts out "he's a transvestite" always makes me laugh out loud for some reason.
