Honestly, Elordi so far. I thought his Elvis was more effortless than Butler's (through no fault of Austin, who got saddled with a movie that desperately tried to glorify and glamourize an icon on screen rather than humanize him) and I found him very good in Saltburn. Butler's got potential and I am excited to see his Feyd-Rautha, but right now I'd say I prefer Elordi overall at this stage.

I’m not sure on talent yet but Elordi really surprised me this year with how much I liked him in both Priscilla and Saltburn. I’m really lookin forward to seeing Butler in The Bikeriders. Dune 2 is obviously a huge get for Butler but Elordi has some solid projects on the docket (GDT, Schrader).

Butler for everything. I don't think it's particularly close yet as far as demonstrated talent/ability goes. Butler's Elvis was remarkable. Best of the decade so far kind of work. Elordi in the same role in Priscilla was servicable, but he felt like Jacob Elordi playing Elvis (he's also way too tall for Elvis and that also takes you out the illusion). I feel a lot of actors could have given that performance. Butler transformed, and immersed himself in Elvis, body and soul. It felt as close to the real man as it's possible for an actor to get. Different gravy.

For porn you mean? It's like making me choose between 2 male stunt cocks when all I want is Riley Reid......where's the talent? Pffft

Honestly, a few months ago I had no idea who Jacob Elordi was, and a few months later I've seen him in two movies and he stole both of them. Like, Sofia Coppola made a movie about Priscilla, and Elvis stole the show oops. Not much worked for me about Saltburn, but his performance of that character is the only nuanced thing about the entire movie. Not that the movie was aiming for nuance, but still. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure I've seen Butler in anything but Elvis, the Tarantino movie, and Yoga Hosers, and the fact that I'm not even sure how many times I've seen him in anything tells me all I need to know about him. I have been impressed by him precisely zero times. Also, I prefer the one who didn't walk around for months after he'd stopped filming still talking in the fake accent.

I’m sorry, but this guy is a fucking clown. I didn’t think anything could top Hillary Clinton this week, but he’s pretty close.

Apparently Dune 2 is supposed to be very impressive.

Elordi has just started and he’s already worked with Sofia Coppola and will work with Paul Schrader. His Elvis was better too, so he wins.
Both are hot (lucky Kaia Gerber), but I give the edge to Elordi.
Judging by their SNL hosting gigs, Butler is funnier though.

Elordi feels like he's more naturally coming up the ranks and endearing himself to people, meanwhile the industry is trying to push Butler so goddamn hard, and it's already starting to weary people. Stop fucking talking about the Elvis voice my guy, no one cares.

"So I just played Richard Nixon entirely in Mandarin, and I still felt Elvis in my voice . . ."

Stop fucking talking about the Elvis voice my guy, no one cares. He will finally win his Oscar for playing himself in a movie about a tortured actor who can't shake off the accent he picked up for his defining role, and his relationship with the dialect coach he brings in to help him get rid of it. It will be a cross between The Exorcist and The Miracle Worker.

Talent: I never watched Euphoria so I have to side with Butler since he was so great in Elvis and memorable in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Elordi was damn good in Priscilla and Saltburn, though.
Promising career: I guess I'll say Butler now since he already has leading man cache, but Elordi is doing the right thing in getting himself associated with as many major filmmakers as he can right now.
Looks: Elordi.

Butler is an embarrassment. Elordi has shown much promise in his surprisingly restrained and subtle performances last year, excited to see where his career goes next.

Elordi for all 3. Butler is cringe central. Elordi is gorgeous and sexy and has shown good promise.

Am I really the only person who watched Saltburn and didn’t fall under Elordi’s spell?
I know I’m kinda sounding like a broken record when it comes to this newer generation of up and coming actors but I’ve really not been impressed with either so far

I prefer El Vez to Butler tbh .......I loathe that performance and it is the weakest 2 person race ever between Butler and Fraser imo.......but that's just me I'm not Film Twitter and what not............
